4 hours on the smaller or larger battery? Since Milfucky has 2 sizes their regular M18s and the high output battery that their electric chainsaws use (it's the same connection IIRC, just physically larger since it has more cells). and what was the fridge that you used?

also any idea if the charge controller for those batteries can be hooked up to the Taco bed inverter to charge?

The truck bed inverter will charge the batteries no problem. Did it last weekend.

awesome to hear that's the case. i ask since well... the last time we had an electric chainsaw on one of the trails, it didn't charge
    :bananadead:

so if the truck is capable of charging these batteries, then it's something to look into

I was using the 5ah which is the regular size. The fridge was this one https://uniqueappliances.com/product/unique-2-3-cu-ft-portable-ac-dc-powered-freezer-fridge-65-l-w/. I started it and got it to -4 in both compartments and it lasted the 4hrs. Mind you the weather was colder so I'm sure that helped the battery achieve the 4hrs.
I don't have an inverter on the truck so not sure about the charging. I do have a DC charging unit I can use on trips and that is usually an hour or so for the 5ah. I have a few of the 12ah high output batteries I'm going to try out and see how long I can get out of them. I like this little thing, will come in handy.

Don't think it's been released yet.
I've seen Atlas Machinery sell someone a coring drill sometime back so it's out there but maybe now widespread and has to be order only. Not sure. Those batteries run for $800+.

A 500wh jackery is over 650 this thing is 1000wh so if it's below 1k I think it might be a good deal.

Some of the tools in the MX line I've seen seem to start around 2k so my guess is it will be pricey.Tthis thing is one of a kind in terms of the battery pack and Milwaukee will milk it for every penny it can. Just like they do with the packout cases. Expensive plastic.

also @tacoma16 and @Norilsk thanks for the demonstrations at the Gannaraska event as well,
lots of little tidbits and information in there that i'm sure everyone found helpful - even if we had heard it before but never actually put it into practice.

again, thanks for showing us how to use a Russian made AK-47!

no worries. We didn’t know what everyone knew, so we started with the basics. At the next one we can show some trail tools and fixes.

Again, everyone is here to help, so ask away!

At the next one, can you demonstrate a cv and half shaft removal technique? I may have missed that one

Lol I really don’t want to demonstrate that and I hope no one has to go through that....

Once covid is done, it would be cool to do a mod day. Can get people to learn how to work on their trucks with some people who may be a bit more experienced.
So much knowledge in this group!

I think I'll be tackling ditch lights over the winter. It seems simple enough, what's the worst that can happen, I ask?

When you realize that Birch is hardwood. You go back to get it all.

I parked in the washout so I didnt block the trail :101010:

Then as you are done, you see that there is a 2nd Birch tree arm length away from the one you have finished. :laser:

It is in the exact same shape as the one that fell across the trail, just waiting for the next wind storm. :sawzall:
    Felled that one :militarypress:

Didnt get a chance to take a pic of the full load of Birch, as I finished loading with my headlamp on.

Now I get to split it all :headbang: Best part of this entire adventure.

175w isn't much. I was looking at that when it came out. It's a cool idea but meh. Wouldn't count on it to do much for a fridge in the summer.
It was advertised for charging electronics, which at its price I would just get the USB power source one they make for $40 instead for charging phones and tablets. No point inverting and amplifying to 120Vac to step back down to 5VDC for charging a tablet or phone.
Will do Milwaukee on a basic charger but not a rapid charger. And won't do a Makita dual charger as it's inrush for the internal fan bumps it over 400watt. Tried it on mine.

Can't speak for the DeWalt flex volt as I don't have one. But the three mentioned above I've tried.
    See above.

I have adaptors to run Milwaukee batteries though on my Makita chainsaw and I have 17 5amp Milwaukee batteries now lol. And four 5amp Makita and four 6amp
