I ran the All-Pro kit with Timbrens on my 2nd gen, but they were harsh when bottoming out, so I went with the Wheeler's kit with Superbumps this time around. If I had to do it over again, I'd get the Archive Garage kit with either Archive yellow bumps or Superbumps, as you don't lose uptravel with the Archive kit https://archivegarage.com/explore-archive/ols/products/stealth-toyota-u-bolt-flip

Get their sensors guards while you're there to possibly economize on shipping: https://archivegarage.com/explore-archive/ols/products/tacoma-wheel-sensor-skids-2005

for that sort of money, i'd also be looking at Durobumps

but what the heck is that sensor for anyways that someone made a skid plate for it?

I really like how the Timbren bump stops work on my truck.

This run was harsher with Timbrens on my previous truck. The Timbrens feel more like a supplementary spring than a shock absorber, so they're great for keeping ride height when hauling a bed of firewood, but not as good for damping.

Durobumps are too long and eat into uptravel. They're good if you have extended-length shocks, bad if you have extended-travel shocks.

That's the wheel speed sensor. Break it on a rock and you lose ABS, multi-terrain select, and possibly even 4x4. A broken wire can be fixed on the trail. Snapping off the sensor at the connector will be more troublesome.

Hi guys, when you cut a winch line, to increase winch torque/make it easier to winch long distances , how do you choose the lengths? mines may be 95'. Do you do 50' on the winch, and 45 as an extension?
And how do you do the splicing? yourself, pay someone to do it?
If you do not splice it, what kind of clamps do you use? I would like to at least buy a clamp or 2 in case of emergencies.

    tks in advance

I bought a 100' synthetic line, and my wife cut and spliced it into a 40' extention and 45' or so on the winch. You loose quite a bit with each splice.

I bought the viking off road splice kit, watched some youtube video's and she was able to do with no problem.

Yeah. I just watched a video, you lose 3ft on the splice.
Another way of to use a metal Clamp, but I am not sure how safe it is, and I would only do it on the extension

Once you do the splicing and realize how easy it is. You will not want the clamp at all.

She spliced up the extension with a loop on the end, it was easy.
