Welcome! That’s what this page is for!

can’t comment myself. I just run all terrains all year long. I’m in the gta area and I found 4x4 and leaving some space to work for me. I usually only drive the truck to work on storm days.

Load c should be fine. @Joe23 what are you running?

I guess I failed to mention that I was referring to ATs it seems like Wildpeaks, Duratracs, KO2s are where I should be spending my money.

    What’re you using?

Ah gotcha. Thought you were talking designated snows.

so my trucks heavy and I’m worried about punctures while off-road so I am running e rated tires. Your use will kinda dictate what you need.

I have run the copper st max which I can’t wait to get back into.

currently running ko2’s and haven’t been thrilled about them. They work but I felt more stable with the coopers. Could be the size of tires that’s making the difference (33x10.5 in the Cooper’s, and 35x12.5 for the ko2’s).

    My apologies.

I currently have 245/75/16s in Nokian Rotiiva ATs in an E and I hate the footprint with the 245 so I’m hoping to get back into a more traditional taco tire such as I mentioned before.

I worry about punctures too but I definitely don’t run as heavy as you do so that’s why I was thinking a C. The OR I do is definitely not SL safe but I wouldn’t mind that mileage.

The best all terrain will still be less performance than the worst winter just something to consider.

I run duratrac in the summer. Nokian lt3 in the winter.

I've heard many say duratrac are great in the winter and the one winter I waited to put my winters on to see how they would perform. Night and day difference.

Plenty of people run all terrain year round without issue though. I just prefer winters because it's so noticeable, insurance discount and 2wd almost always rarely needing 4wd.

Ice is where winters really show the difference and here in the city, Snow is less of an issue where ice is a bigger issue since the city will drench a portion of the road in salt then the rest nothing.

I have no idea why Durawacs are winter rated...K02's are three times the tire in the snow. Dedicated winters are again above and beyond all of the winter rated A/T's.
Where I sit with it all..with Southern Ontario's inconsistent winters I would rather have the versatility of an A/T than scrub a winter tire to death.

I run Durawacs in the winter...just my observation....not a bad A/T tho. I have had much more success with the K02 in the snow.

Seems like us swampers are saying Duratracs and KO2s. Anyone have experience with wildpeaks at all? Those seem to be the cats PJs in these forums

I have 265/75-r16 Wildpeaks in a P rated tire. I think the other choice is E rated. It's been an awesome tire on Northern Ontario trails. Any review that I read prior to getting them put them way above the KO2's in pretty much every condition but particularly snow and rain. I do have dedicated winter tires so can't comment on 4 season usage. I'd definitely recommend them.
