I figure, try until you die. Buy the tires, try them and if they kill you, you done goofed.

Do any of you who have the “newer” SPC UCAs with the sealed flex joints, have any squeaking from them? My passenger side UCA is squeaking when moving up and down. I greased the ball joint when I installed them and added more the other day. The sealed flex joints are not supposed to require any greasing as far as I know.

I’ve only been able to find posts about the old arms squeaking. They say that they had to remove the bushings and re-grease them to “fix” the issue, but it would come back. There isn’t a lot of info on the new arms.

    Any suggestions?

not to be an ass but turn up the radio. if that doesn't squeak something else will, or rattle or click or clunk or ......whatever. when you wheel a truck regularly you expect these things. now that dose not mean ignore noises but some you'll have to live with,(till they get louder) lol:) some of us without a back seat and with a wife wear ear plugs. opps..

I have no problem ignoring it if I know it's just an annoyance, and not an issue. I just wanted to know if I should be worried about it.

I have the Gen 2 and haven’t had any issues with them. Had them for 3 months now. They are suppose to be a sealed unit. Try pressure washing them out. If your wheeling often you can expect to have more wear and tear. You could try emailing SPC to see what they have to say

Make sure you used the supplied big washers and not OEM washers.
Make sure the washer's bevel faces the correct direction according to the instructions.
Make sure you have the revised design with 2 big washers per arm instead of 4 big washers per arm, according to FAQ item 16.
If everything checks out, shoot grease on the large washers facing the bushings on each end. Torque the long UCA bolt. That's about the only thing you can do.

I know this conversation has passed but I was just in the shed packing a few things and saw my old diff breather with pretty shiny threads. Looks like it was fully threaded into the diff from the factory.

I do have the updated version with the 2 washers per arm, and they are installed correctly. I tried to spray some Lithium grease in there just to see if it would have any affect and it didn't. I'll try loosening the bolt, adding some proper grease between the washers and the bushings, and retorquing the bolt.

I torqued the bolt while the truck was still on the jack stands, but the instruction say that is okay with these arms. Should I have greased the shaft of the bolt before reinstalling it?

I was going to say the same thing to throw some grease that can get into the cross bolt/bushing.
On my older TC arms, the squeak came around if the bolt was cranked too tight. I would have to torque it to spec and back off just a bit

Spec is 85 foot pounds right?

The squeak only started last week. I would expect if it were too tight it would squeak right away???
