Ya shits getting crazy these last 10 or so yrs. My 86 IROC...goes for a shitload more than I bought it for 15 yrs ago.

Barrett Jackson and the millionaire disposable income folks started the trend 20 odd yrs ago, and it's trickled down ever since. I just garaged my 99 Runner and put it with Haggarty, where the IROC has been for 15 years. 450 bux insurance per year for both and I still drive them.

Remember 25 yrs ago ->> @daks when the common phrase was "a vehicle is not an investment " ?...they fvcking lied

I have to hide my Camaro, lol can't take it out without people handing me business cards, pestering me and offering well over 6 figure numbers for it.
Lol I'm tempted to see what the market would pay for a 2001 Sir Civic M/T with only 44k on it and 0 rust and almost showroom condition.

Buddy of mine has a 68 Camaro and about 3-4 more 67-68 camaro's worth of OEM body panels and parts etc. He checked current prices and well if he sold it off he could buy another house.

Panties, no worries, windows aren't that big, so only the small ones will fly in.

It's all the sweating middle aged men running towards you with their wallet in one hand and their dick in the other that gets a little disconcerting.

Then you get everyone that temps you to "lite it up" , dat be too tempting to get your car towed..... :sorry:

It's typically a heel and toe thing for me...then I have to clean rubber off white quarters...then re wash and wax...therefore I don't do it often.

Last weekend after a short driving jaunt after a wash, felt a sticky caliper. Sure enuf beetled right home and felt a toasty rim...winter project. Calipers and pads on all four corners.

Glad it ain't another rav4 rear coil...good luck finding those

Well that is probably pretty safe in today's "stunt-driving" environment, no longer paying by the foot for those little "indiscretions" .

Well the stock engine for the Z28 is a 302DZ, I have the #'s matching engine all blueprinted and on a stand, it was about 475hp at 6,500 rpm and 425b-ft-lb at some rpm I can't remember...

The engine I have in it is a period correct 350 that is bored .030 over with polished heads and a high rise intake hei ignition, etc etc, and a 650 double pumper on it. 3:73 posi rear end...
Had a 4:11 in it but that was way too much low end and high rpms on the highway. Only a 4sp transmission.
Easily over 400hp at the rear wheels...

Smoke show from 1-3 and chirps going into 4th, lol whole intersection completely invisible in the rear view mirror.

When I was younger and before I had repainted the car, I would put an old set of bias ply tires on the back,
nothing like completely fogging out the Towers parking lot and then hearing the big bang from a tire shredding....

Put some of the street legal racing slicks on it, realized that was a mistake when I stomped on the gas and all I could see was sky out my windshield,
and it made going around corners with the posi rear end a hell of a lot more twitchy with the gas.
Lol back to BFgoodridge radial TA tires...

May put the 780 carb from the 302 engine on the 350 to make it a little less responsive off the line... lol don't want no Po-Po accusing me of stunt driving because the tires chirped.

Don't want to imagine my car being pulled onto a tow truck while I'm tits up on the side of the road with taser barbs stuck in my nipples looking like a Tesla experiment.

The rear calipers for the Z'ds can be a bear to find depending on the year. I think the Irocs are all the same tho.

It may just be corrosion or muck on your caliper pins,

Don't even have to take the wheel off, or jack up the truck,
just reach around the tire and wire brush the top of the caliper and the wipe it off,
then spray some brake cleaner and wipe it off,
then apply a tiny dab caliper grease to the pins and retainer.

A dab of penetrating oil on a qtip will help to loosen them up too. Before the grease.

Had something similar happen to mine and that's what I did 2 years ago to clear it up.

The L78 rear disk brake option is really rare in the first generation Camaro's, even the front discs were an option on some trim levels, a lot of the plain Camaro's came with front drum brakes!

Mine is front disc and rear drum. All factory parts except for the pads, Power Brake option and Power Steering (rare options on Z28's).

I can lock up all 4 wheels in a hard stop without a lot a pedal effort. And I have the rears dialed in perfect with the proportioning valve.
But no ABS in that baby, no traction control, no graduated power steering based on speed. No computers.
    Manual choke.

Every spring I have to re-learn how to drive it lol,
Going from the Tacoma's 3 inches before you get a response gas pedal to any more than 3 mm real quick and you got a whole lot of Oh sh*t on your hands, takes a little getting used to. Lol

Pins on the calipers corroding and getting sticky is a fairly common Taco problem. No zinc or chromium on them.

Just another area that Toyota sucks for anti-corrosion.
