The testing requirement for short trips makes no sense. One test in Toronto would allow me to get into the USA AND back into Canada (how is that checking if I got COVID during the trip!?!?!)

As for rear springs, every since I watched go pro footage of a tacoma rear axle under hard acceleration, I added it to my list. Hope it gets rid of the axle hop too.

I was dead set on Elkas (like support the Canadian economy when possible) but realized all these high end shocks that use an exposed bearing at the LCA got me thinking they might not be the best choice for driving on salty roads (same reason I would never get uniball UCAs). I want a reliable ride and don't want to take the front suspension apart every 2 years. If I went that route, I wondering if I gave them a shot of penetrating oil every oil change if that would prevent issues

Yea the high end stuff just requires rebuilds every once and a while, that is a price you pay for awesomeness.

I run the high-end 5100's. When it comes times for rebuild you just replace. It's built into the design. Hahahaha

Lots of Detroit Lions season ticket holders here in Sarnia. All you need is a test here on Friday and you are good to head down to Ford field on Sunday to hang out with 65,000 of your well watered, maskless, sparsely vaccinated friends before you return in 72hrs with no restrictions. What could go wrong?

Do you guys know what length of U-Bolt I would need for a flip kit with the 3 leaf add-a-leaf and the overload leaf? Durobumps has 3 options, 7.75", 8.85", and 9.4". They don't have any info on when you would need the different options. I'm guessing 8.85"

when in doubt go with the longer one. they typically have a ton of threads and can be trimmed easily with a sawzall/cutoff wheel.

I second what @honkonbobo mentioned. Worse case scenario - angle grind it off.

it has a two pronged effect.
    1) dont need to worry about what length you actually need
    2) if cut with an angle grinder, it will leave some burs on the metal itself preventing the nut from backing out entirely if it ever rattles loose on the trail!

Thanks. My only concern is that the threads aren't long enough and I'll run out before I get them tight.

That's right! Just like the 6112s, change a bushing and they keep on going. No need for rebuilds.

Like everyone said, I would do the longer one.

When you have so many sets of broken headlights around that going in trash, might as well open them up for parts :anonymous:
