How is that a good idea? The rack is heavy and prevents you from loading tall items, negating two benefits of the Softopper.

 

I don't necessarily disagree but it does still give you a covered bed without the additional weight of a hard cap and you can still roll up the sides and it's still easier to take off the rack than a hard topper

Yep. Nothing is really ideal. But for my purposes, losing them height is something I sacrificed.

I just renovated my basement and with everything I bought, the rack was never a limiting factor.

Now. If I wanted to save on delivery of new appliances, I’d take the rack and tent off.
