For now yes, hopefully they won't restrict those too since most crimes are committed by legal license holders /s.
Trespassing should be met with force, trespasser is well aware of the illegal actions. Current leadership is making it worse only by easing laws and minimal punishment, just that.

Oh I am well aware of that, been in situations like that before. Although, if a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? :anonymous:

All my trips are "take is as it goes" so no plans but camping whenever I can. Most likely a week and a half to two.
North Sydney planning in the long ferry there and the shorter one back

    1. It doesn't appear to have good clearance. if the plate takes a hit, you're jamming that into the frame. when the skid starts to deform from being beat to hell, it's one less thing to worry about. mine isnt even square anymore:cookiemonster:
    2. you missed the opportunity to help that angle. Mine buckled over the years
    3. Slide the plate forward, the first big hit will slide the plate back and will absorb the energy by sliding than shearing the bolt (i know the bolts are bulky, but it's the concept i'm going at here)

Good to know! I’ll slide the plate forward to give me that room for absorption. With the way the plate is positioned right now it’s pushed all the way back and I have an inch of room before it makes contact with the frame. I made the plates smaller to have a bunch of wiggle room.

Looks like I’m dropping the skid again to add reinforcement around that bend. I remember seeing Peter do it. Wouldn’t be a hard task to do

glad to hear the tips are helpful, had i had a better idea what it was you're doing with those front wings, i could have mentioned that before hand.
But the transmission plate mod is mint! i like it.

yeah, @Norilsk i think mentioned to be just weld the oil access door entirely and drop the plate each time, but overall i think adding some spines near the door will help the front skid plate out a lot. My door is fricked and i've changed the bolts out 3 times now because the bottom one keeps loosing its head. If you have the metal and skill, build a ring around it that you can slot a socket into it, but a rock wont immediately obliterate the bolt heat. the allens are a complete cunt to remove so upgrade to something with a hex head.

Looks good. Just keep an eye on how it deforms. I know I have had to fix and straighten Eugene’s many times but he drives a bit different.

Even after this he taco’d the spot right where the plate was. Believe he bent the 1/4” gussets.

I think I also had to gusset the tube/spacer pieces as he ripped those off the frame as well

I feel like it's not fair to use him in any comparison.

Absolutely. But it is still a possibility. I have some pretty decent dents/gouges on my skid where I won’t install a fumoto valve because of worry of it getting knocked off.
    F62EDF8B-70FB-4F69-BD5E-D01A2FD8668D.jpg

fire road driving and not seeing a high rock is what caused this dent. This is also at the bend of two pieces of plate which should be the strongest.

better to know the possibilities and make a decision based on your thoughts of how you drive and what not.

So now that I’m back in the GTA area — anyone want a free set of the 3rd Gen OR Bilsteins? Front (w/springs) and rears. I’ve asked before, and someone almost took them but it’s been a few months and they haven’t asked about them about them.

I’d love for these to become a ‘travelling’ TEC/Ontario community kit for anyone who needs a quick bolt up while re-doing their main set-up, then passing them on to whom ever needs them next.

Let me know. Pick ‘em up in Newmarket.
