That being said though. It's only easy if you have the right tools to do the job. I did it myself, but I also have experience doing similar things at work. I wouldn't say it's an easy job for someone with no mechanical experience.

I was at the shop when my mechanic was doing it lol. He was bitching that getting the axle out was more of a pain than removing the old bearing.

Haha, I never had a problem with that. My biggest problem was finding a big enough hammer to separate the tie rod. I didn't have a separator. lol

ya it seems its harder to get everything apart to get to the damn thing than it is to change the actual bearing.

I've done them before on other cars. its always a bit of a pain without the proper tools.

Go to timmies this morning to get coffee, and on the way home I see a kid who is like 12 or 13 pumping up a tire on a truck with a bicycle hand pump. There was no way I could drive passed that and be ok with myself. So I stop and get out, the kid is just staring at me. I hook up the air line, turn on the compressor. He moves out of the way and I fill the tire in like 30 seconds.

'Now my Dad will think I am superman' He says as he high five's me.

    lol

It's better to do all the major suspension work early, when all the bolts aren't rusted.

I would also recommend to apply anti-seize on each bolt before putting it back. Less chance of cutting those bolts after.

Has anyone looked at the new chevy zr2’s?

I just test drove one, I’ve been eyeing them ever since I got the tacoma.
Tacoma deal was done after I realized what these trucks were about.

If there was better aftermarket support, I think I would’ve bought one today.

I like to hear other people’s opinions about them. Unfortunately my girlfriends doesn’t count to much because she doesn’t understand anything about it.

Can’t say about ZR2 specifically, but it’s Chevy...

They are the most unreliable trucks/cars I’ve seen, and I’ve seen many of them breaking down after one year of intense use.

Better wait for a new ford ranger, that will be a good rival to a tacoma and maybe Toyota will produce an actual 3rd Gen after ;)

Tried to test tried one, the dealer told me

Douche: 'Yea you wont be able to test drive one of those north of Toronto. The only one we have comming is sold.'
ME: 'How can I decide to purchase the truck if I cant drive it?'
    Douche: 'Good question'

    I then hung up.

Actually, if you have time to waste...why not drive their truck around town..?? It's not like it'll cost ya anything, right..?
I've had 4 Chebbies and 2 had major motor problems.. 3 had big RUST issues....On 1, I had to keep the tailgate up to hold the damn box from flopping over and falling off...!!! Never again...!!
