Made my own when I had my 2nd and 3 rd gen Cummins. I rally don't see why you would need one on a gas truck. But hey it would look pretty cool.

The ATF thermostat was added for the 3rd gen. It's next to the trans pan, below the ATF-coolant heat exchanger (also added for 3rd gen)

Living up North you learn to pay attention to "little details".

Like if you are parked with the front facing towards the prevailing winds, cover your grill so the snow drift does not end up under your hood.

    Longjohns are your best friend.

If you are in an area that hits -40 and below, a battery jump pack kept inside the house is a good idea.

Scrape off the ice on your side windows and seals before you operate the power windows.

Wax/lubricate the top and side window seals so ice does not freeze the window to the top seals. Or the door closed.

Spray light lithium grease (not wd40) into your door keyhole, door latches, hood and tailgate latches.

Don't park in standing water if you are expecting it to freeze up overnight.

Mold release, Silicone Spray or even in a pinch PAM sprayed all inside your wheel wells will stop or make removal of that frozen brown ice easier.

Keep snow off the bottom of your door sill, otherwise it melts from the cabin heat then freezes the door closed after you let it sit for a while.

Keep a set of heavy Snow pants and heavy mitts (not gloves) in your truck at all times.

The ice is safe to go on 2 weeks after the tourists stop falling through.

The liquid-liquid heat exchanger was kept. The little aux ATF cooler in front of the rad was deleted mid-2020.

Yes, every buck saved is 34 million yen in Akio's pockets, before all the supply chain disruptions anyway.

^Should be OK if you use power locks and not use the keyholes :homer:

Keyholes should get a thinner fluid like Teflon lube (same stuff you'd use on the coilover uniballs)

For door locks, bike chains & anything you don’t want dirt to stick to like WD-40, this stuff IS the bomb.

Ya, see...all that is liquid. I'm reluctant to put liquid lubricant in to tumbler locks. Liquid assembles dirt and grime. I'm more inclined to use a graphite powder lube al la https://www.lowes.ca/product/lubricants/3g-graphite-powdered-lubricant-34006

Don't know what it does for sub freezing conditions however

If your dusty trail riding, you don't want oil based lube in locks

No doubt graphite is the best but it was somehow hangin’ on to the keys making my pockets black. Couldn’t figure it out for the longest time.

The teflon spray is actually a dry lube. The carrier fluid evaporates after a few minutes, leaving behind a teflon film. It's also easier to apply than powder in a toothpaste tube. I use it in my 5 locks (door, tailgate, tonneau, fuel cap, spare tire) with good results. The spare tire lock gets dragged through mud a few times each year.

I used a few empty Plano cases as space filler. Had fun explaining that to the squad of CBSA agents searching my vehicle lol.

Not enough heroin experience to think about the Bic lighter. Thanks
