Sold my Small Block this morning, cash in hand to fuel up the 3RZ swap!! Finally I get to checkout my Rock Auto shopping cart.

I bought a LCE longtube header earlier this week for the 3RZ, was a deal too good to pass up.

The stupid thing - Mercedes invites YouTubers to the press event, then makes them blur out the footage showing the underside:

    upload_2023-4-2_23-32-11.jpg

    This page says it's a De Dion-type axle: https://topelectricsuv.com/news/mercedes-benz/mercedes-g-class-electric-details/#Powertrain

I had to Google it - basically it's like a trailer axle with no diff pumpkin or driveshafts running through it. The motor/gearbox would be mounted to the frame and transmit power through CV axles. So the EQG combines the rough ride and poor handling of a solid rear axle suspension with the limited articulation of CV axles

4th gen Taco reveal in two days, should be interesting.

So i wasn't too far off with thinking how it would work.

well we'll see. those vehicles always had some impressive tech so i wonder what else they'll add to it, like driving backwards uphill. Recall reading about someone touring around with a RTT on a already top-heavy appearing Gwagon and some sharp hairpin showed up on a downhill. Diver knew they were gonna go over but apparently some tech inside it raised the suspension on one side and dropped in in the inside corner to level it out a hair and prevented the roll over.

Also wondering about the G-turn, obviously only shown on flat ground but wonder how well it'll work while articulated out.

4th gen Taco announcement in 2 days noted.

^Closed course, professional driver, outside the HTA jurisdiction for distracted driving.

Remember according to Toyota, off-roading is inherently dangerous. Do not attempt.
