I had a similar experience, but it was a smaller order and I wasn't in a hurry: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ontario-bs-thread.249665/page-2610#post-27777173

At least PartsEngine is prompt with communication. Nothing like placing an order and not answering emails or phone calls (like Motorwise.ca)

Since the lower pulley seems to be mostly not broke, not gonna fix it but nice to have some spare parts and gaskets on hand.

Now on to the real show. Listen to these puppies!! Found a shop in Oshawa (Commercial Alternator and Starter) that says they have bearings for it. Gonna pick them up this aft and giver a go tonight.

I'd just replace the whole alternator. Maybe other things inside are also worn

Its working fine otherwise. I might try and get a set of brushes while I'm there. If it's bad after I get it apart I might order a reman and then keep the home rebuilt as a spare

How much does the shop charge to rebuild the alternator?

He said that a rebuilt would be ~250 when I asked. I dont know if that includes core or not.

Preliminary findings: bearings that I received are NTN 6303LLUC3/EM and 6202LLU. will confirm once installed

grabbed a new set of brushes while im at it as well

That is less expensive than the cheapest no-name alternators on Rock Auto.

Operation alternator rebuild was a success! Details documented here https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/alternator-rebuild-bearing-p-ns.806507/#post-28922491

One thing for sure. Whatever engineer thought the alternator needed a dinky stamped steel (basically a harness mount) in addition to the giant cast mounts it already has is out there with Mudasser now. The rear bearing was also pretty good still, but the front bearing kinda gets force fed by the fan in the alt. Hmmm, maybe a smaller retainer plate hole could shield it. I have some pretty infant Popeye arms, no clue how people with forearms can get that rear bolt.

I think the engine is quieter than before its mud bath now :)

@3JOH22A Your Tensioner pully being the same as the lower is also confirmed. The reducer bushings leave an unsupported section compared to stock. With proper torqued clamping forces, dont feel its a real issue tho.

I started a thread for VMUTS Run: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/vmuts-run-sept-22-24-2023.806688/

Note date is flexible. Let me know if Sept 22-24, 2023 works or if Sept 15-17 is better. In 2022 they had a rally with up to 200 ATVs the preceding week, which would've crowded the trails.
