With 3"lift you likely have very little to no down travel left. This will make things seem harsh because they are topping out all the time going into small depressions, potholes, and settling after compression (hit a bump, truck and wheel both go up but the wheel can't get back to the road because there's no travel left (clunk), loosing contact to the road it will land where it wants.). Given that the PO lifted the truck he probably changed the tires. If they're E loads pumped up real hard then that will cause small sharp bumps to transmit harshly.

As for the jigglyness of the truck. When I think the 3rd gen is jigiggly. Tires and pressures affect this quote a bit.

Since you have 5100s, you can more than likely take them down 2 or 3 clips and a fresh align.

For me the first step in diagnosis of any problem is to generally take a look around and see if there is anything out of place. then comes a road test and then id would verify all the components are working as they shroud, which means disassembly to check and also checking the "set up" of things like alignment and ride height.

with that said i think you on the right track with the idea of someone else driving the truck to see what they think.

Ah, yes I had actually overlooked the tire pressure contributing to that. Will check thank you. As for taking it down a couple notches on the height I think I’ll likely end up doing that and see how it behaves. I’m not used to lifted, I’m used to lowered if anything lol so it’s a good learning experience! Thanks for the input

I've been in my 1st gen for a few years and its always been a little rattly and I've replaced the entire ifs, just how a 20 yo truck is. Gets even worse if you lift it and put on 33s. Check your ball joints!!

Okay great. This is good news that I’d soon rather hear than if it’s supposed to be solid and airtight. I think it’s mostly just my lift then. I haven’t driven a stock jawny so I just don’t have anything to compare it to!

X2 on this. IIRC 5100’s are also a digressive shock so it will feel like a hay wagon on the roads.
Is it possible previous owner had an aftermarket bumper?
Spring rates might be too heavy for stock if it did.

Hay wagon … that’s EXACTLY what it feels like! I can’t say as far as the bumper goes, x doubt but who knows. Going to read up on “digression”, never heard of that before

Overlanders will bolt any trendy mod to their vehicles instead of learning how to drive.

Heres ur little PSA for ya’ll.
Keep an eye on this hose or look into a better hose or.. just unhook it if you have a “not unless its broke” type of significant other

probable cause of failure for my actuator.

3rd gen actuator is built inside of the housing not as easy to change, so yes, extend breather high and away

Pretty easy to miss. The hose was split straight down so no way i would have even seen it with the skid plates on.
