Hey guys, got a few questions.
    2004 4runner. SR5 with the V8. 2UZ-FE.

Do worn down 32 inch tires fit a stock 4runner?
Do tacoma 16 inch rims fit on them?
    Does it come with 4wd?
How are those older automatic transmissions?

When I come home tonight, I'll be doing more research but I'm struggling right now to find more info.

    Thoughts on this listing?
    I think it looks good.

No idea. Probably fine if teh fluid in it isnt totally cooked and shifts fine.

Even tho three's a "safety" I would be critical of frame rust still

Take a good look at the rear hatch door on top. Ask if water leaks in because of the rust. Make sure it.goes into 4wd. If it's got new carpeting ask if the floors have been fixed or are they all good (there is a reason why it's got a new interior ask why)
He did aloy of work to it ask what work is left to do.
It looks good id go there with 8k cash and try your luck.

    Good luck with it.

    Ummm...you realize it's blue right?...RIGHT?

That aside, it's a 1st year 4th gen....dunno if your superstitious about that sort of thing. The v8 is a great option...

Dax will be around shortly to chime in, as he has a 4th gen

Listed for 5 weeks, wonder why? Price doesn't seem outta whack

My buddy bought one of these in early 2020 with 180,000kms. His was clean (almost no rust), but still had about $2,000 to safety. It was not an easy check, but timing belt should have been changed at 175,000kms, his was original and was replaced at time of safety
Hhood struts are a safety item.
His brakes were very low, but passed, we did a factory upgrade to the larger WH “sport” pads rotors calipers.
    needed cv boots up front.
the X-REAS hydraulic suspension was on the verge of blowing a hard line along the frame rail, but we obsoleted it all with Bilstein 5100s, rear springs and isolators.
His cats are very weak, and they’re expensive, looking into Doug Thorleys to the tune of $1100 usd.

Overall it’s a badass truck, the V8 is plenty, returns in the 14s L/100km almost exclusively driven in town.

For the record, his was Wife Approved. She didn’t see it until after it was all paid for and safetied. Still got the seal of approval.

    New Duratrac 265/70-17 fit.
16s would fit, but can’t do the brake upgrade.
I think “Sport” are delectable 2wd / 4wd. Buddy has a LIMITED which is AWD /4wd lock.
Auto is pretty solid…. if you like that kinda thing

The VIN is visible in one of the pics. Run a Carfax on it and make sure it has a clean title and no major reported accident repairs. The hood, roof, and tailgate are a lighter hue than the rest of the vehicle. Some repainting probably happened.

The tailgate is rusted at the top. The seller replaced the window motor so there's probably a lot of rust inside too. Expect to see a lot of rust, maybe holes, at the tailgate bottom near the lock/latch. The 4th gen has a soft-close tailgate, i.e. the latch runs on electricity every cycle. Expect to replace the tailgate in a year or two.

You can see CV axles, so it's obviously 4WD. This one is full-time 4WD - you can see the lack of a ADD actuator in one of the pics. The selector knob toggles between 4hi and 4lo, and there's a separate button for center diff lock. Make sure 4lo works when you inspect the vehicle. The same pic also shows a dent in the A/C condenser, so make sure A/C works.

Beware at this age, pretty much every 2UZ has cracked exhaust manifolds, just different severity from one example to another. Check if the timing belt has been changed. If not, that's an additional expense you'll incur.

Tire fitment is about the same as Tacomas. 32s clear with the OEM wheels (like the ones on the vehicle now). Skinny 33s clear as well. The VIN decal says the vehicle came with 16" wheels. Looks like they were changed to the 17s at some point.

^Why, because it doesn't match my brake calipers?

^I researched 4th gens and looked at a few before I found this 5th gen at a similar price point.
