My battery is finally shitting the bed after 6 years (!) Needs to be jumpstarted every day. It seems to be a group 24f OEM w/ 582cca. I thought tow pkg OR had 27 but regardless, anyone have favourites or suggestions for our climate?

 

Whatever the cheapest AGM CT or Costco sells.

 

Doesn't that require changing something in the alternator to fully charge it?

 

I'd install a factory battery back in there. Before I got my truck the previous owner installed a new Toyota battery and its pretty much made me a believer in factory batteries, well where my truck is concerned anyway.

3rd gens do it through the ECM. There's a software toggle to raise the charging voltage when you get a tune.

Or you run the AGM battery as-is charged to 90% or whatever capacity. AGM is nice because it's sealed, so battery acid won't spill out of the vents off-road.
