I need some strong adhesive to secure a Fiberglass battery tray to a painted inner fender. The vendor recommended I use ProForm 7115, a two part epoxy, panel joiner. But it’s $115 for 220ml, and that doesn’t jive with my budget.



@Norilsk , I must know if PL Premium with “3x strength” work, or must I bump up to the PL Premium Fast Grab with “8x Strength”?

 

believe he is going to be using a product from 3m for some body work. Sure he will chime in about it. If I recall it’s similar to the automotive adhesive they use to glue body panels at the factory. Similiar but obviously not the exact same.

This is used when building various fiberglass trailers etc. I’ve had good results as well with personal projects and what will be used in some sections of the Lexus.

 

Thanks fellas. I’ll order up a tube of that loctite product you referenced. Hard to believe it’ll out perform PL though

$53 3M 08115 , OEM Recommended Two-Part Epoxy, 200 mL Cartridge, Bonds Metal & Composites for Auto Body Panel Repair (1 Cartridge)

3M 08115 was another product the vendor mentioned. Both are a two-part product, both require a mixing nozzle and twin cartridge applicator gun… I wasn’t about to spend twice as much on glue as I did the battery tray itself.

 

Only thing I’d be concerned about is the PL eating through the tray. If you anchor it to wood first it might solve that if it’s a factor.
