So he's staying at 1250 firm. Probably going to be out of my price range. I wanted that cap to set something up like the way you had yours (pre-adberg)

also this thread just inspired the piss out of me.

There aren't any roof tracks. Those would be really expensive to add later. I'd pass.

Keep an eye on these guys. I bought my last cap from them ($1500). And if you're going to pay cash (Interact), ask for a 3% discount, which is what they lose if a credit card is used.

    http://www.usedtruckcaps.ca/

... and bring a buddy or two, 'cause they charge $50 for a basic install, and $90 for a wired install.

Second these guys. Very good service.

I would get an aluminum contractor cap if I was in @bfeth position if I could find a cheap one. Come with the roof, doors and tool boxes. Plus it’s white.

after scouring the internets I found the look of this one.
    I'd total do this one
I could then drop solar panels, extra recovery tools, maybe an RTT.

Im after the same cap. I want to find a contractor cap in black. With the aluminum rack already on it. One side with a shelf and one side with access into the bed.

Just be careful how heavy you go. My fibreglass cap was heavy as it was and then with all my gear it broke the bed. Don’t know about chevys bed but ours isn’t great. Just be sure to put the weight low.

I dont plan on a rtt ever so im not too worried about it. Chevy believes in real steal truck beds, not composite. But really i have no idea which one is better. I did like the composite to clean easy. Mines linex from factory, no complaints yet

I just did a kijiji search:

    1) https://www.kijiji.ca/v-other-auto-...ox/1345554308?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

... doesn't have a roof rack, but it's reinforced already. A little pricey at $1200.

    2) https://www.kijiji.ca/v-other-auto-...ap/1343435545?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

... $500 and it would make a great expo cap. Has racks and all. It's white aruminiumium, just remove the decals and add a window to the back door, or change the back door for a flip up. It's in St. Thomas. I'd be all over this one.

    3) https://www.kijiji.ca/v-other-auto-...up/1334009775?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

... $500 for a Bedslide to store more off road goodness. This one is down the road in Georgetown. You'd need to cut this one down to length. Easy-peasy.

So first of all. You are awesome!
Secondly, what about the length on the back of the cap from that one? Would I have to remove the tailgate to make it fit or would I just cut it?

Hey, no problem. I'd like to see this done.

Tailgate comes off to accommodate the barn door. I would just leave it that way with a window because it's hinged like a door, and comes with a frame and all of the rubber seals. Look at all the Aussie expo caps. You'd love it. You would need to fab a new door for a flip up or source one with the top hinge, and that would be a pain.

And if you look at the white cap you showed us earlier, it appears that the owner installed his own windows as well. They don't ventilate. This cap must be hotter than fack, since it's in California.

... and there are cheap trailer windows just down the road from you:

    https://www.kijiji.ca/v-trailer-par...es/1203339449?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

    Google Fu!

... and there's a bunch of wrecked travel trailers around the corner from me. I can see if they have good windows and a roof vent.

Depending on how much weight your willing to carry, carefull of the bedslides. The one I had was extremely heavy. Although very convient i got rid of it due to the weight. My setup was extremely heavy to begin with so it may work out for you.

I wish it was that easy, those are for 6ft beds or for older colorados.

There’s only one for sale on kijiji, a 5ft bed for 2015+ colorado, contractor style but its white so..

Its not high on my list but if the right one comes along ill grab it

    Howdy Gents,

New the the whole Taco thing. I've had it since August and loving it. Coming from a Wrangler and I made a good choice.

So far I went with full Mobtown skids and sliders, BFG Ko2 (of course), Spidertrax 1.5" spacers, and Rigid fog lights. Much more to come. I have an issue with leaving vehicles stock.

I'd love to get in on some trail runs this summer to see what the truck can actually do. hopefully I can keep up to speed on this thread!!!
