minden is a little closer...ardbeg isn't too much further. I'd personally rather keep the trip to a one day thing but dont know if that would be doable that far out

@tacoma16 do you think there would be any benefit to me to to go through the newbie course at 0f4wd?? I just dont want to go and be bored...You've seen how I drive..

 

Lol. Can't say it would hurt. All depends on the trails. Some of the trails you really have to be mindful, especially if you are stock. I never went to the newbie runs. Did some easy trails and kind of worked up. As long as your wheeling with people who don't push you'll be fine.

At the end of the day it's an outing. But we can always do a newbie run through the forum. Worst case it's tacomas lol.

 

Yeah... I was thinking it wouldn't hurt either. I'd at least have a good knowledge base afterwards, even if that's all I'd get out of it. Like you said it is an outing.

 

I'm down to go if you want. They really talk about the trail etiquette, safety, gear, and stuff like that.

For instance the way we were all driving during the snow run, would kinda be frowned upon on crown land. Because we were on my families property, the donuts, fishtails etc were fine, but on the trails, it tears everything up, it's not good for the environment, etc etc. Really they just want to make sure people tread lightly and don't ruin it for everyone since the offroad community gets a bad rap. Not to say you can't have your fun, just don't fuck it up for everyone- should be there moto lol.

 

Hmmm... I never really thought about that... I think I will make an effort to reach one. They have 3 scheduled. June, July and September. I'm going to try for the first one. Registration starts in May I believe.

 

Let me know which one you go to,I'm always done for a refresher. Hell worst case it's a weekend of camping

ETA is end of April as the manufacture says 30days. Playing on the safe side it may be May 15 (45 days) as getting stuff from China takes time as we all know.

The quality of the tents are far beyond the smittybilt and I was told they are similar to the cvt tents.
