Could also get one of those gazebo things to hang out for bugs but otherwise just hang out in the outdoors .

I agree with what Peter said though start with ground tent if anything
Honestly I bought so much gear to make it better for my girlfriend and she barely comes .Start small you never know if she'll even like it as much to stick with it

I was looking into a hammock but most of my trips would be with the other half so it’s not a fesable option.

Yah I should have rephrased. I didn’t expect it to pay for it, was just going to put it towards it with some other savings.

I think at this point I’ll wait till spring and see what’s happening at Sail. Maybe catch some deals and build a nice little setup. I want to get out more, I honestly don’t care about how we get there.

My biggest regret was not being able to go out to enjoy nature while I was young because my dad was always busy with work (executive job, big wig type shit, no time for the kids). Didn’t go on a vacation till I was 18 and it was Alberta for 2 days and I visited the US for the first time 2 months ago with my girlfriend’s Dad. We went to the Buffalo wing expo lol.

I just wanna live before I don’t have the time I guess

Yeah, took no vacation or sick days last year and it got me no further than I would have been if I did. Will be maxing it out this year lol.

A lot of valid points have been mentioned already.
If longer trips that include a lot of moving are likely, RTTs are awesome. The pack up and setup make it a breeze.
Last lengthy trip was a 3 week trip - Ontario to Newfoundland and back through Labrador. Lots of one night stops and having the RTT was much appreciated.

If provincial park weekends are more your plans or just longer periods in one place, nothing wrong with a ground tent.

Yeah I think later on down the road the RTT will be more valuable but I’m seeing now at this point it would just be flashy and too much

Even long trips like Eugene said ground tent was fine.

People have backpacked and camped long distances with ground tents for years.
The time comparison is only valid if your ground tent takes you 20min or more to set up.

Rtt is also dedicated to truck only. At least with a good ground tent you can go portaging or backpacking as well

Personally think RTT are just a fad that in another year or so very few will care for it still

I don’t know how that thing is legal weight wise. I know with my setup being all aluminum other than my armour and my trucks a pig. Very nice though.
