I'll be putting up some LED lighting and a bunch of small odds and ends once I go through the boxes. I need to make room in the garage for my bass boat that I picked up in NS this past weekend!

So anyone on here got a body saw and or high output compressor that wants to have some fun?

New ARB snorkels don't really work with a holesaw anymore...so who wants to have fun. I'm trying to decide if I should just go at it with a snorkel.

Asked one body shop about it and they gave me a ridiculous price of $250 just to cut one fuckin hole.

Just do it man. 2 4inch holes with a Hole saw and your good. Or jigsaw. Use tape to keep the paint from chipping. Paint it afterwards. Bam snorkel. Seal that shit up with butyl or plumbers puffy to keep sheer water tight.

I'm thinking either jigsaw or actually going at it by hand with one of those milwaukee hacksaw things. Not a typical bow saw just the blade on a handle.

The guy at the body shop was showing me the blade to use for a body saw. Just can't find a jigsaw blade with that fine of a tooth.

If you saw the metal saw I used and how clean of a cut it did, you wouldn't be worried. Just put a shit ton of tape on the area under the template. and it will keep it from chipping. Even if it does, everything is going to be hidden and you just paint it. The sheet metal is so thin, the hole is going to take a second to cut. Could always come over with a grinder....Cutting party. Need to do my fenders too. lol. In all honesty though I can this weekend. Have to work at my Uncles..

    lmfao

I'm thinking I'll do the jigsaw.

Waiting on my 3m tape to come in the mail. Dont want to drill the A pillar and the arb snorkels are pretty strong don't think I even really need much of that support on the top. Besides heard of plenty of guys on here that just did the 3m double sided tape.

Just don't trust how well those plugs seal that they tell you to use so I'd be concerned with water getting in the A pillar

Same boat. I didn't drill the a-pillar. Same thing double sided tape, and a big nut to pressure the bracket between the snorkel and the bracket. Works good so far with the huge pre-cleaner on it.

dude the airmax ram head is fucking HUGEEE

I'm actually curious how it will feel with wind resistance and the higher CFM
It definitely does add more air flow so who knows.

Just actually used the template against the snorkel itself and there's about an inch of play up and down on the cut so I'm a little less concerned now.

out of all the things I have on my truck, the two things I get asked about the most is the exhaust on my hood and the back pack that is falling off the tailgate

I almost want the same head you have.
Just worried about people being cunts and putting shit in the ramhead

And I almost feel it will pull water in while raining. But can always turn the head around.

Lol EXACTLY the same reason I went with the pre-filter. Heard of someone who worked at a GM plant, and some of the employees would throw cigarette butts down the ram head. I did it too as I have seen snow be an issue. Some people don't have it, I didn't want to bother, so pre-filter.

well ARB say turn the head around in heavy snow.
Dunno if I'll do the filter covers or go with a prefilter.

Was yours included or did you order it after?

I ordered the pre-filter afterwards. didn't want to mess around with covers and what not. Plus turning it around can be an issue in fast speeds. they say not to go above certain speeds with the head turned around the other way as it can damage the engine.

Make sure the blade is fine tooth for metal. you can always use a file to smooth out any rough spots. Don't forget to prime and paint. I would smear a little silicone on top of the paint around the edge too.
