It's interesting how much technology has progressed. The Colorado 2.5L 4-cyl makes 10 more horses than the 5VZ V6.

 

I didn't know the parts wouldn't transfer over. I'm trying to read as much as possible about the pros and cons of the 3rd Gen trucks. I really want to know if they are going to last like the 2nd gen.

 

I was simply scared of the new engine, and all electronic things that they added. That was why I went with 2nd gen.

 

I bought mine from red hill and when i started getting it serviced there I asked if they greased the driveline like it says to. They were confused and said sorry this is a learning experience for us lol now i do everything myself but the 8 free oil changes which im getting done right now. And im scared cuz i forgot to drop the skid plate for them. Its 2nd gen on my 3rd gen n has washers spacing it from the bumper.

 

They will fuk that up, its not in the manual

And back in 2016 you'd been somewhat right. By now they fixed all the little issues like the over-coated crank sensor or the coolant leak near the firewall. The 2GR engine has been in use since 2005 in the IS350.

 

I am at 50K of use and abuse on mine, everyone knows here how much I abuse the poor thing.

So far so good, I also feed my truck the best oils

I went to the parts desk.. Toyota in Brampton, asking for gear oil and the parts guy told me they didn't sell gear oil. Haha. Where'd you get yours?
