I also tried to buy these gear oils for a local dealer and they said they don't use OEM gear oil .
I put Royal Purple in the MT , don't ,,,it's not nearly as good as the original fluid, After about a month I replace it with Red Line,

I will send all info this Friday:thumbsup:

I used OEM for diffs and T-case. I filled my transmission with redline 90 and it shifts smoother, but also deleted clutch accumulator :burnrubber:

Lol 75W85 with 40% dealer markup because of the Toyota logo.

I run Pennzoil 75W140 in the rear diff. Same viscosity as the overpriced Toyota oil when cold, but greater resistance against thermal breakdown when doing burnouts. :burnrubber:

^I won't be replacing the front diff and transfer case fluid for another 3 years, but I will probably go with 75W90 like I did with my previous truck. The front diff is free-running in 2WD mode (i.e. 99% of the time), so the oil in it stays cold. The transfer case is never hard on oil (a bit like the oil in manual transmissions).

Hey, anyone on here has OV Tune? Any comments on how it wheels, and how it handles snow and ice?

Those cans are $28/L, on a 39K truck it’s a drop in a bucket. Toyota 75W-85 has better viscosity than aftermarket 75W-85 and I havn’t seen anyone on TW putting 75W-140 yet.

I did change my front and it had plenty of metal shavings and was really dark compare to the rear that gets used way more. So I would keep an eye, transfer case was clear as the day I got it.

Heard from the shop. Should have the taco back next week.
Since I can't smoke in the rental, taking the oppourtunity to try to quit smoking. I may gain 50lbs though at the rate I'm snacking.

Good luck! Smoked from when I was 14 to last year due to working in foodservice industry, it’s tough but if you really want it you can do it :)

Thanks guys! I'm doing the patch (tried the gum in the past. Messes up when I want to sip my coffee at the desk)

Been 16hrs since my last cigarette.
