Lol I hear ya. I have been going back and fourth on rims for a while. I first went really cheap with first gen alloys. But wanting to go to 35's one day, I need specific offsets and backspacing. Not many rims come with 3.5 backspacing that fit our trucks. Plus I need 17's if I need to do a big break kit. So I am pretty much stuck with the stealth custom rims which are sweet but pricey. $1600 for 5 at this point....

decisions decisions haha 35's eh that's quite the tire, it will look bad ass tho haha never even thought of rims being a factor in tire size but it makes sense haha I don't plan on going any bigger then 285/70 so I don't think I have to worry too much about that. the SCS rims are nice I was looking at them too but the ones I liked, the stealth 6 I think they were, nice but I feel they aren't very original. lots of ppl have them of that style, 6 plain spokes lol not that the TRD are original but I do like them and they are oem so the fact a lot of ppl run them doesn't bother me as much.

Yeah looking forward to it. Lots to do before I can jump up. Fender triming and a regear. I think with 285s you will have to run a spacer with stock rims to get off the spindle/uca. Could be wrong though.

I was thinking the same about the scs rims but there aren't any other options. Was even looking at steel rims but can't find the size I need or one that will actually fit the centre bore on the Tacoma. Just need shit to work really. unfortunetely I am going to have to pay so I don't have to run spacers.

on stock rims I do believe I will have too which I don't mind but if I end up going with the Anthem rims I shouldn't have too but we will see, they have a 4.5 back spacing with -12mm offset. but who knows, ill find out when I go to put them on haha I see so many contradicting posts about all this stuff so ill just find out on my own haha if I have to wait a week or two for spacers to come in the mail, I'm not worried

yeah man cant wait to see urs with 35's haha progress is slow on my end, besides the fact money doesn't grow on trees I keep finding all these other small things for the truck to spend my money on.

Haha I am in the same boat. Except the next couple mods are going to be really pricey. Gears, lockers, rims and tires. Got to save my pennies and plant a lot of those money trees.

hahaha yeah i hear yah. i must say tho its a good choice of mods. I'm slowly working down my list and the further i go down the list, the more expensive they get haha I'm thinking of doing a regear but that's way down the road, i know its not really necessary with the 285/70 but i will wait and see. once they are on my truck is i notice any loss in power so to speak, its going to bother me knowing i can fix it with a costly upgrade haha

Yeah. With the armour, cap and everything else my trucks getting heavy (weighed in at 6000lbs with 1/4 tank of gas). I'm on 255/85/16 tires and it's not terrible but the transmission hunts. Regear would definitely help. Might as well do lockers and stuff while I'm in there. See how it all goes.

Problem is if you regear to say a 4.10 your only good for 33's and it's not Really worth the money. 4.56 your slightly over geared for the 33s (depending on weight). For me having 35's in mind, and an automatic tranny and the weight, 4.88's.

Definitely costly and definitely a lot of different routes to go as well. Lots more researching to do while I'm saving.

Yeah with that much weight and also with the tires your planning you don't really have a choice but to regear. and like you said, if your in there may as well do the locker too haha

I probably won't end up having to regear, all depends on how the build plays out. i would love some armor, plate rear bumper, sliders, either a plate front or some sort of sting ray lo pro style bumper with whinch. cab rack with maybe a bed rack too to run a RTT but that's me dreaming and living in a perfect world. if I'm honest with myself, unless i get right into off roading and doing way more camping/adventuring then i do now, all that stuff is really not necessary.

yeah exactly, not sure what the weather has been like down at ur end of the province but i know its been mild as hell here, feels like spring, I'm not complaining but I'm not as confident in the amount of ice under my feet when I'm heading out ice fishing haha

Your still out fishing. Jesus. Down here it's like fall. Crazy weather. Hate the inconsistency. Been switching between my winter and fall jacket.

yeah was out fishing last weekend before the real mild weather hit, was about 6" of ice so that will probably be the last time i go. by the time i get another chance to head out it will be almost march. i only put my winter jacket on twice so far, ive been good with a hoodie and my flannel jacket/sweater thing.
