Oooooo, look what I found.

The mechanic sent this just after 8. he ain't screwing around. He says he plans on doing the tranny fluid and filter too. he was surprised it looked as good as it did for the miles. I can't believe you have to go through the starter hole to get to the TC bolts.

 

He's moving right along. Engine swaps are easier than HG replacements for sure.

Unless you have no desire, I would keep as much from that engine as you can. You can part a few items out. The rest for spare. Valve covers fetch a decent price, since people like to powder coat them.

 

Unfortunately, there's a core charge on the motor, I will be keeping a couple small things but it has to go back, "complete".

Rebuilding it would have been a nice winter project had I the space to do it, or more importantly, the time.

Yay... Almost done. Tranny filter should wrap things up...

Got the bill... Just over 5 with a new radiator, alternator, tranny filter and all that comes with it.

Not related - but anyone remember the dude that found an ARB locker under his deck?

 

Damn, this guy found a creampuff! Runs great! And, omg, I can't believe what I got used to with the transmission. the pan was clean when he drained and dropped it. shifts smooth as a baby's butt with fresh fluid and filter.

The temp is still in the 190°s though.

Let's see how it is a month from now...
