Its pretty crazy, I was just messing around in microsoft paint for a few hours like I normally do, waiting for my imminent demise at the hands the worlds latest health crisis. I was artistically drawing lines all over a blank slate, trying to become the worlds next michelangelo, when I realized something..

My jumbled mess of lines happened to form the exact shape, size and dimensions of a popular piece of roof-mounted metal sections that you all know of. After realizing this, I spat out my coffee all over my keyboard, which short circuited it and resulted in some pretty crazy stuff. My keyboard overloaded and somehow opened AutoCAD, magically converted the file into a CAD file, then into a .DWG file (you know, the kind of file that Laser Cutting/Water-Jet cutting companies need to properly quote you/cut your design). Imagine my surprise!

Im going to post the file below so you all can see what I mean! I mean how crazy is that? What a crazy night. The universe is one CrAaAaAzY place!!

check out this cool completely un-related link as well! Has nothing to do with this post though. https://www.tnutz.com/product/ex-10...tted-aluminum-extrusion-for-prinsu-roof-rack/. I bet you if you ordered like, exactly 7 of these things, you could make a really cool stand to prop up my artwork with for your viewing pleasure!

Oh oh and then this too! https://www.tnutz.com/product/et-010-1-4-20/
I bet if you ordered like exactly 10 of those, you could use them to bolt your artwork stand together better as well! Damn the possibilities here are endless.

Indeed a crazy place. Good thing you didn't export it as a PDF otherwise any fool with a printer and angle grinder could purchase some 8" Flat Bar and in no time have there very own roof rack.

Have you cut it out yet? Just wondering on how you determined the bend lines.

@NeonHeights can you estimate the diameter of one hole on your art stand? The 1:1 ratio is killer, but I get carried away sometimes and might end up with a 47’ long easel.
    FA06608D-2379-47D4-9256-02B4A0DD6AEF.jpg 6mm diameter? 8mm?

Could always try to scale it down to 85%, or move the rear tabs forward the required distance and chop off the excess.

    Awesome thanks!!!

However, do you know what scale this is at? When I open the file it's 227" wide (almost 19').

OR what the overall outer dimensions are. I may be opening the file in the wrong measurement units.

I used MM and it came out to be around 65” long.

Yay!! Feel free to spread my artwork with the world. I want everyone to experience the benefits of multiple lines organized in a precise fashion. A wise man once said, 5052 3/16" aluminum is the way to go for material. But that same man also said that 3/16" hot rolled steel works well, and is a cheaper alternative to aluminum, but has drawbacks of potentially rusting if not painted properly, and is heavier.

.DWG is the most precise, scale-accurate way to view my art. Id be concerned about using a PDF throwing off the measurements. I think someone would be hard pressed to cut this with an angle grinder.. they are very tight tolerances. Its not expensive to have this laser cut. Expect a local shop to quote you anywhere from $100 to $300 depending on material chosen, and who youre dealing with.
