While doing the valve cover gaskets on my 99 V6 4x4 Tacoma, I swapped the vacuum and the coolant line on the bottom of the throttle body. When I started it up, heard a liquid running sound that did not sound good. Never heard that one before.... Does anyone have an idea of how to drain the coolant out of the vacuum system, or should I just let it be? Thanks for your replies.

How long did it run? Did you shut it off or did it die on its own?

"The vacuum system" is the intake manifold, and the next stop is the cylinders.

It might be fairly inconsequential if it was just a little bit of coolant. Anything more than and you're looking at pulling the manifold to clean it out and /or removing the spark plugs to get it out of the cylinders

It idled for a few minutes. I shut it off. It's smoking pretty good. To be sure, the vacuum is the lower port on the throttle body, while the upper is the coolant?

I just pulled a plug and the cylinder seems a bit damp, but not enough to hydrolock it. Have I dodged a bullet or am I in for more fun and games? PS, Thank you so much for your reply!

Coolant lines for the throttle body are on the bottom.

I would be as diligent as I could to get any excess coolant out of the cylinders before running the truck any more.

If you pulled the plugs and cranked it to get the coolant out, you’re good.
