I'm not much on running my truck all closed up on my drive to and from work. I bought a 2014 access cab, Base model (5 lug even)... When I run with the windows down the buffeting is crazy.

Is there any gain to a Back Glass that opens? I don't like the sliding back glass option, but may have to do it anyway... I like the fresh air.

My goal would be to find a Powered roll-down Back glass, as I don't need the back area fro anything but Storage when I need it, as I got no kids and no one rides in the back... hell... nobody rides Shotgun very often.

Can anyone point me to a Good QUALITY roll down power back glass? can install it, I think... Don't mind paying to have it done either if necessary.

No kidding... I'd BUY a FACTORY one at a 1500 buck price now. Looks like I'm gonna have to go Slider or Fab up my own Up=Down version.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
A power sunroof would be groovy.

You would be surprised how much the WeatherTech window visors reduce that sound. I just installed mine so that I could crack the windows while it's raining, and was really impressed by how much they quieted up the cab with the window down.

FWIW, I find the sliding window in my Access Cab does dramatically reduce the buffeting and noise when I run with my windows down.

That's a lot of what I'm looking for... how does it differ/help? I'm just an old geezer with a love for fresh air... I drove my last car for 18 months (4 door Scion xB) and ran the A/C only a few times... As long as you lowered the back windows it wasn't a problem, but Just the front would beat you, and just the rear would start a Whipping Buffeting noise that seemed to suck your ear drums out. I learned pretty quick to run 'em all down at the same time.

If just a Slider helps immensely, I may end up going that route. Having a lot of years in automotive electrical and electronics, I had hoped for a kit to replace mine with one like the Ford Sport Trak... or a single solid window. Either way, rolling down was my favorite option.

I kinda think I'll buy the Manual Slider for now and work out my own Fabrication of a Single piece... If anything else pops up, fellas... let me know. The price isn't as important as the Removal of noise, but will definitely not be ignored.

Although I understand others will apply the door "visor" thingies... They don't appeal to me at all. Makes things look "Cheap" to me. I'm not knocking what others like... just 'splainin' my opinion.

I never use my slider on my 2006. I think I have used it like twice since I bought the truck brand new.

The slider rear on my truck helps a ton with the buffeting. It's a must but over 60mph the wind gets annoying again.

Ah, gotcha. I was wondering if you meant stay away from them as a company altogether or just the Tacoma rear glass. I work with them commercially and the seem fine but I'm sure they are completely different segments of the company.

I too like running down the road with my windows down. I have an 09 DBL Cab and my back window is open all the time. I love it and yes it does help the buffering.

Just a piece of advice though, when it rains you can leave the back open but close the other windows. Found out the rain water comes in when other windows are open going 70 down the highway...just my .02

With my access cab back window open and front windows down the buffeting is greatly reduced.

I've never touched my rear sliding window. It's a feature that only car thieves would love.

To me it looks more like real crappie engineering on there part and looks like it was made in a sweat shop not a factory.. If it was made in the usa they have QC problems from hell.

The guys around here will not install them they have a poor track record..
