Opinion Needed : Tire Recommendation on Pro Wheels

Good Evening TW Members!

Just looking to start a short thread on recommendations from individuals who have experience with lifted vehicles and tire sizes to match. I am looking at purchasing the Boss Lift kit for the 3rd Gen.

I have a Offroad 4x4 - 3rd Gen.

I just picked up a set of 17 x 7 Black 4Runner Pro Wheels.

I would like your feedback and/or insight of tire sizes and brands. I am considering and leaning toward KO 2s

 

There are a shit ton of threads with pics and info on this. Search around but I think the most popular pick here seems to be BFG KO2 265/75R17 followed by a smattering of Duratrac, Nitto Terra Grappler G2, and Toyo Open Country AT2 in the same size. The struggle is getting a C rated tire vs an E Rated tire for impact of rotational mass (tire weight) and fuel economy concerns.

 

265 on 3inch lift look goofy?

 

Probably so maybe shoot for the 285. It will look better but your fuel economy and torque curve won't.

KO2 285/70/17 need a 7.5-9" rim
KO2 265/70/17 and 275/70/17 need a 7-8.5" rim

Surprised to see everyone selecting the 265 tire with a 3 inch lift.

 

I have 265/70/17s on mine and I like them - Nitto Terra Grappler G2

 

I went with the Nitto Terra Grappler G2 also in a 265/70/17, currently stock suspension but plan on adding a 2"-3" lift.

 

Like I said in my first post here

 

I went with 265/70R17s General Grabber AT2s and they've been great so far off road and driving around town.

265/70/17 on Nittos, stock suspension. No vibe issues, no worry about CV angles and looks great.

So 265/70/17 fit fine with no lift? I have a '16 Sport coming next week and have these rims sitting in my garage already. I was going to start with just switching the stock tires for now but I'm not sure those tires work with these rims. The stock sport rims seem to be 7.5 inches and come with 265/65/17 tires. Plus I think the combo won't look that good.
Anyone think I can get by with just swapping rims for the short term?
