i have thought about putting an aftermarket muffler on my truck. i personally like the rice burner sound but i dont believe the ricer sound goes with a lifted truck... i think the sound would do more justice on a lowered or bagged taco... for now im staying stock with the muffler, my cai is pretty loud and does the job quite loud... plus i love the whistling noise, im afraid that i wouldnt be able to hear it with a louder exhaust

On my import vehicles, I prefer a subtle exhaust note. Not something loud.

Can't replicate a v8 without 8 holes, so tough to get the right sound. Hoping Corsa moves into a system for the Taco.... They have one for the FJ, so cool if we could deepen the sound for the 6 (or four)..., but fart pipes are the worst... Had a 5.0 with Borla and sounded like a NASCAR....., flippin' awesome... Hate the sound of a Civic, trying to be anything other than a Civic.....

3" rough country suspension lift, hella 500 ff's on the bumper, blacked out badges and a 1st gen TOYOTA decal on the tail gate, realtree camo seat covers and steering wheel cover, 1 boss 10" sub under driver seat. Cherry bomb extreme 2.5" in. Pioneer head unit. Trd off road decals and an butt load of decals on my window's for personality.
i put a cherry bomb extreme on my 2.7 and its not ricey and doesnt sound like an angry bumble bee. but not nearly as loud as the bigger trucks but i am very pleased with the cherry bomb being the only mod to the exhaust system. definitely can hear it coming

I had a CAI with a stock exhaust for a short time. I was embarrassed when I punched it! Sounded like a puppy dog trying to be a pit bull... and not doing it well. Growing up in the era when gas was cheap and engines were capable of chewing up a new set of rear tires off one stop light...I just don't like the ricy sound. I'll keep my 4 banger with a stock exhaust.

I can't afford a 5.7L Tundra. Bad enough that people can see it, I don't want them to hear it too. Stock please...

No one drives around with 159hp if they can afford 381. Just sayin'...

A nice deep tone is what I'm looking for.. I like noise but not enough to where a cops head will flip over and look at me due to the noise my truck makes.

    Because I can

Why would someone live in Canada when they can live in the USA?

They cringe because it is seriously painful to their ears.

I work out in traffic all day and have to wear hearing protection because of ricers. My high frequency hearing is shot. I can't enjoy a loud concert anymore because some frequencies are painful.

Good point. I think I'll apply to move there.

On an unrelated note, it's easy enough to just use 159 of a Tundra's 381 horses. It's quite expensive (and explosive) to get 381hp out of our 2.7L.

i dont get the fascination with Loud mufflers at all, doesnt matter if its rice/or deep.

If I could have a zero sound golf cart like muffler I'd do it. Sneak up on people like the stealth bomber

It's new......mods starting soon. Removed step bars so far. lol
i love the deep rumbly sound.considering i grew up with muscle cars, and my last car (83 Monte) with a BUILT SBC with long tube headers into purple horny glasspacks exited right behind my front tires i am used to noise, but its gotta be more like "i have enough power to roast my tires off without touching the brakes type sound" not "i have enough power to make my toilet water move when i fart on the can sound".This is hard to achieve with any 4 cylinder no matter what you throw at it.I'd say out of all 4 bangers i really only like the Subaru tones you get. That nice deep rumble instead of high pitched snarling
