Hey everyone. I’m looking at purchasing this 2020 sr5 with 42,000 km on it. The dealer sent me some pictures of the frame and I was wondering if I could get peoples opinion on it. Should the condition be of any concern? Thanks

There’s no concern with that frame from the pictures you’ve shown. Start fluid filming if you buy it, and you’ll be doing all you can for it’s longevity.

If you can remove the rust and coat the truck, it will be fine. I would go and take a look at it my self. Especially at coolant line, that loves to rust and corrode both in 4runners and tacomas.

Then it will leak coolant all over the place, also there is AC drain that keeps dripping on the right side on the frame I think. I would look underneath to see it well. That spare tire gave it away, I can almost see rust on top of it, might be salt sitting on frame just like that too.

That looks to be a truck from central Ontario? Orangeville. It looks pretty good overall, definitely needs some undercarriage protection. Krown if you are local to the Orangeville area.

Not bad from the pictures. I bought a 4th gen 4R that looked similar. I treated all the rust and refinished it.

Always a good idea to have a separate mechanic inspect before purchase.
