I think the condition and miles seem good, based on the pictures. Inflation sucks, but I've seen higher prices for Tacoma's in worse condition. Regardless of who paid what for a similar vehicle, if you think it's a good buy and gamble to fly, do it. I've flown to check out Tacoma's and flown back without the buy, but it can be worth it. It's also hard to find any good condition Tacoma 2nd or 3rd Gen. And finding a new one could be even harder.

I know it's overpriced at $31k in our current environment but if you can get $20k for your 2005, this would be a no brainer for me. Paying out of pocket the difference of $11k for a much newer lower mileage truck, you get an immaculate good looking truck with lower miles and a 2nd gen year model that reports fewer reported issues. If you do proceed with this route and your current truck has a fairly new suspension lift with no issues, I would do a swap out before selling yours.

You are right on with my thinking... my plan is to swap it ALL. I also marketed my current Tacoma with its old Toytec lift. Luckily I never sold it...

I know they likely sprayed the frame with armor-all type dressing but even when it wears off, I doubt you will have any rust concerns to worry about being a southern truck. The 2012-2015 have the best looking front ends and with this unmolested truck being 4WD with a LB, got my vote.

If he’s looking for another one. I got 2007 TRD-Offeoad w/154k, I might sell him for that that price.

Ive flown out to look at many vehicles..only to come home empty handed a few times...and other times, with absolute GEMS! This looks solid, and if you inspect it, then its well worth it in todays market. CLEAN 2.5 Gens are only going to get harder and harder to get..and if thats the style you like, then its for sure worth the trip!

The cost to upgrade sounds very reasonable to me then

How'd your truck rust so bad in one Colorado winter? I heard they don't rust in Colorado due to dry climate, did you use fluid film or woolwax?

The deal doesn't seem horrible in today's market. 50k is low miles so seems fair

Pyrite is the best color, and the 4.0 is a truck motor. That's a win ll

I wouldnt count on that dude actually giving you 20K. You would be lucky if you get 15K. Your truck should sell for 10K all day long.

I moved to the mountains, bought studded tires, and suggested we take my truck anytime we went anywhere. (Also grew up in Alaska so pretty good in snow). Also, they salt the shit out of the roads here. It’s a mix that supposedly has less impact on vehicles but we all know how bad these frames can be…

So when does this deal actually close? Until I had cash in hand I'd be leery.

Instead of a picture, how about just sending the cash.
Or better yet, swing on by East Tennessee on your way back home.
We can blow it all in a weekend

Whenever I get back and swap the parts. I’m not cutting my nuts by buying this truck. I’m paying for it in cash.
