Hey guys I was wondering what you guys thought was a nice deep muffler I could put on my tacoma without it sounding raspy.

Ive been looking at the Flowmaster Deltaflow Exhaust.

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. :D:D:D:D:D:D

that delta sounds really ricer imo. i thought the dbx9 sounded good but never felt justified with buying it without hearing it in person. decided to stay stock for natures sake while im wheeling. maybe im getting old though.

    My opinion is stock.

Haven't heard them all, but also haven't heard one that doesn't make it sound like a truck v6 with an aftermarket muffler.

If you find one that makes it sound like a Supra TT or 350Z let us know. ;)

Since you are looking for input, I'll add my 2 experiences.
My 07 had the Banks cat-back, nice system, 6 years, no problems, good sound, but pricey.
14 has Magnaflow off road shorty, about 6 months, inexpensive, easy install, felt the difference. Loud, throaty, pops and gurgles on deceleration, getting tired of the drone.
I will probably replace the Magnaflow with something a little more civil, too much for me.
Good luck on choosing what's right for you.

    Or, don't be a dick.

TRD on my '11 was deep and throaty. Loved it. If I wasn't going to chop my exhaust on this truck I would of bought it again.
Went with a Magniflow on my '15 and love it, great sound and no drone in any speed.
    Drone is your enemy.

Idaho, what Magnaflow system did you go with?
Mine dumps before the rear axle, seems to make everything vibrate, under 2K RPM.
I know, keep it at 3K.
Thinking of a resonator, our extending exit.
    Any suggestions?

In Jan. I went in to my local shop hell bent on a Flowmaster muffler as there were some issues with the seams splitting on the MF. Although I like the sound of MF over Flowmaster all day I caved.
While I was there the Magnaflow rep was there and started his pitch...He said that they have improved their welds and assured me that I would have no issue with drone. It was a simple remove sock and replace and they chopped the exhaust over the axle while they were at it.
I got a screaming deal on the muffler and install and couldn't be happier with the sound and performance. It just sounds fantastic.
I will try and get the part number by tomorrow.

The TRD exhaust is slightly louder than stock with a deep sound. No drone whatsoever.

Thanks for the quick reply. Mine is the off road shorty cat back, $350 off Amazon.
Maybe I just need to tidy up the cab contents a bit, so nothing is vibrating, re torque the clamps/hangers. Even the radio face buzzes, sometimes.
I know, I know, keep it above 3K RPM. I have some time this weekend to do a little putzing.

In no way was I being a dick. Sound is subjective, so why doesn't the OP listen for himself.

I for one think the 4L sounds like crap with an aftermarket exhaust, others will differ. He should hear them all before making a decision. And he shouldn't listen to what others think is the best because everyone has different taste.

What if he bought a TRD because everyone was hyping it up and he hated it. Seems like a poor choice don't you? If he listen to it on YouTube he could get an idea of the sound/rasp/drone/in cab sound.

Stock... and save your money. V6's especially like the 4.0 in our trucks sounds like SHIT with an aftermarket exhaust.

Bout the best one i have heard is the TRD cat back... and even then im not a fan of the sound.

Flowmasters are too loud on 4cyl & V6's IMO. I had AERO exhaust on my dcsb v6, but it sounded too much like a riced out Honda civic. Now I have Magnaflow and like it better. Just a tip...don't dump your exhaust short before the axle or you will get a nice annoying drone.

leave it stock. I had a borla factory installed exhaust($1100) on my Tundra that wasn't all that loud except when pulling my Camper, and then I felt like I needed earplugs. Don't torture yourself.

This. I had the TRD cat-back on my 2010 and took it off after a few weeks because it droned like a mofo.
