I sold my 09 Tundra CrewMax and got a DC Shortbed Tacoma because it's easier to navigate. If I was going LB, then I might as well jump up and enjoy the 5.7L Tundra. The Tacoma is a breeze to drive on the trails and in the city.

double cab if you want to be able to let your friends ride with you, or if you want more storage besides the bed. and the short bed sucks if you will be carrying much in the bed. I needed the long bed and I love it even though its long as hell

What do you guys think about the option of an access cab with a shell and bedrug. I think that may be good because it would keep my interior clean.

I love my AC. I had a Crew Cab Titan for years. The huge cab was nice on occasion, but it was overkill 90% of the time. So I went with the AC when I bought my Taco. Its the perfect size cab for what I need. Been extremely happy with it - except for getting trapped against another vehicle when trying to use the suicide doors in a parking lot.

but still I still think the AC was a good choice overall.

I understand about the bed choices, but I am for the dc. I had an f150 extended cab and I got to where I about hated the rear door. I worked out every day after work so I threw my gym bag in the rear floor. When I would get in or out and have to open the rear door while someone was parked beside me, it was a pain in the a$$. With a vehicle parked next to you and having to open the front door to open the back door that swings to the rear it left very little room to grab my gym bag and be out of the way to open/close the door. Since then having a 4 door is sooo much better. I dont mean to complicate matters for you, but wanted to give my insight on this. Maybe some of the ac people can vouch for this?

No trail limousine... Reg cab all the way! No room for crap to accumulate, and only room for the girlfriend. Sorry, bro, find a ride:)

I wouldn't mind if the regular cabs if they would come with power locks, windows and cruise. I don't care if they may break. It is 2011, a vehicle should have these things standard.

Not on the new 2011s. Only options are a sliding rear window and DRL.

I know there are kits for other vehicles to add pwr windows and locks, maybe for 2011 eventually.
The kit for cruise is $120ish and 1hr work, 2hrs for manual trans.

I have heard about those, but you don't have those covered under warranty. It is just a little ridiculous that a ~$20,000 vehicle doesn't have those standard.

I like not having them, except for cruise. One less thing for me to fix.

I get that. But they should at least have them as an option.

I love my AC and so does my dog. He is a little smaller than yours at about 55 lbs. I am considering taking the back seat apart and building a solid bench for the dog. And with the AC, when your going to the bar with friends, one of them has to drive so you can get lit.
I would recommend turning off the seatbelt chime if your likes to ride shotgun.
And AC 4 Banger all the way!
