Does anyone have any knowledge on installing a mesh guard in front on a condenser? Like what kind of problems can occur, if any?

I assume this to keep bugs from getting in between the condenser fins?

If so, a simple piece of household window screen mesh should work for that (my dad used to do that, I think he used eyelets and a combination of small bailing wire & wire ties to secure it).
Shouldn't cause any issues except maybe in the very hottest climates (like what it's been in the Southwest here the last couple weeks). Place the screen ahead of the condenser an inch or two (don't put it right up against it), that will give the best air flow.

In cold/frigid climates there might be a risk of ice accumulation on a fine mesh ... blocking air flow. In deepest winter some block much of the grille to prevent freezing the engine (look at semis and that cloth patch), but to collect ice and fully block would be bad.

I've yet to see an issue where I am and we see -45c to +45c

That said the better the install the better the results. We are seeing lots of rock causing damage this summer, its not a bad idea.

This is what I did. Lowe’s has black gutter guard with a doubled up edge. I think I needed three.

Remove grill. You can use cardboard to make a template or just cut as you fit. Used small drill bit to put holes around frame. Used small zip ties to hold it in place and used stainless lacing wire to finalize mounting.

Can take some more pics if needed.
