opinions on leveling kits

    you shouldnt do it!

    just set your 5100s at 2.5

    Yeah no point in using a leveling kit if you have the 5100's. The 5100's are a much better way to lift.

    i get where ur going with the 5100 but would it make a deference in the ride quality if i were to put a 2.5 inch leveling kit and set the shock at 0 BTW im refering to the leveling kit not the spacer so not to preload the spring

    why would you buy a leveling kit and 5100's?
    Leveling kits are junk imo, I had one for about a month, and never could get a good alignment. not to mention a leveling kit will cost you more than a set of 5100's. So in my opinion 5100's are the only way to go. I have the 5100s currently and like them much better.

    If you have 5100's, do you just need the shock and nothing else to lift 2.5"? No spacers, no spring compressor, no nothin'?

    I have a spacer lift of about 2" that came with my truck (installed by a toyota dealer for a previous owner). If I was to buy the 5100's shock only, would it just be a R&R of the stock shock and to remove the spacer that is in there?

    Sorry to threadjack, but the answer may help the OP as well.

    You would need a spring compressor to do the install. It does use your stock springs, and no spacer though.

    The spring perch has 4 different settings to preload the spring.

    Do u need all 4 5100 shocks to level the taco? i have bilstines but unsure what series, doubt they are 5100..
    all i want is to level out the truck what are all my options?

    You would need an add a leaf for the rear to level. The rear 5100's do not provide lift.

    IMO the stock ride feels like an SUV. With the lift it will feel like a truck.

    come to think of it, that is true because i had a 97 taco and that felt like a truck... an old beat up one.....hahah
