I got a question for those of you that chopped off the steps...

Are the predator bars any good for stepping if you don't have the lower steps?

Mine has em, hate them. At stock height they look stupid, hang too low, shin scrappers. Looks better with steps cut off or sold.

I have Rough Country Predator-like steps.

More annoying than helpful. For adults they are too high to help and just make getting in harder. My 9yr old and my 12yr old are the only ones who see a benefit.

I'm looking at saying screw it and getting AMP Power Steps as they look like they actually come down and out far enough to be helpful.

(mild lift that makes getting in annoying, and the steps still don't help)

Only thing i could add is when i had those steps on my tacoma having had suffered a stoke that left the right side of my body weak, i thought it'd make life easier getting in and out of the truck which it did during much of the year. Winter came, and that all went down the crapper. Those predator steps collected slush which turned to ice on them. It made stepping onto them more dangerous than not having them. I removed them. I later sold them on craigslist.
