I switch to this right around this time each year and run in through Thanksgiving.

This is a TW oil thread. Per the regulations....there shall be no logic displayed or actual facts brought forth.

Keep it up and you'll be reported

All these oil threads are the same.....full of old wive's tales, outdated wisdom handed down by grandfathers, irrational superstition and just plain wrong information......and opinions galore.

Hang out on BITOG for awhile and peruse the threads. All of a sudden you'll see oil in a different light. You'll discover all the money you've wasted on designer lubes, that the color of the oil after a few thousand miles means nothing, that Blackstone Laboratorys did a study some time ago that stated they can find no difference in engine wear across brands or types (synthetic or conventional) when used per the manufacturer's recommendations and lots of other enlightening things.

And I had an ASE certified tech put a rag down the engine oil fill hole of my grandmother’s Grand Prix. People don’t prove points the same way data does.

For all of my vehicle I’ve dumped in whatever was leftover and mixed oils so I didn’t have 20 partial jugs of oil lying around the garage. I’ve continued to use whatever is on sale that meets requirements. I have a feeling that my RAV4 with 220k, my 1st gen with 305k, my second gen with 275k, and my Prius with 95k haven’t noticed a difference. Never a single engine issue with any of them. What I’ve taken from all of this: keep spec’d oil in the engine. Check it regularly. Change at regular intervals depending on vehicle usage. Synthetic or conventional. It’s that simple.

They always do. My oil can beat up your oil kinda stuff. This has actually been pretty tame in comparison

    Ordering his Amsoil.

Edited - and FRAM filters. That ought to stir up the hornets nest.

The Ultra. I've run them many times. The best filter you can buy. I've seen many videos and info on BITOG where these these things have been cut open. Excellent design and construction.

Now cue the old worn out story about the Orange Can of Death causing my brother's friend's cousin's Mustang to blow up.

    In 3.....2.....1.....
