Opinions wanted

I need your opinions , does a cold air intake really make a difference? I was looking into the new afe cold air intake with optional ram air intake, it's a lot of $ . It comes with 2 different filters , the pro dry and the heavy duty oiled filter. Just want your opinions if they really work or should I just get the drop in filter ( pro dry) greatly appreciated on down to earth feed backs

Might get you an extra 3hp if even that, that you will definitely not notice.
Waste of money.
With the modern ECUs these can even kill MPG and cause problems. Days of bolt on upgrades are gone.

With a modern MAF monitored engine, an aftermarket intake can change the airflow around the MAF sensor and wreak havoc with the programming.

This is a big issue on some turbo Subaru intakes.

In my opinion, and moderate experience, aftermarket intakes and exhaust on modern vehicles do nothing to increase performance without an ECU flash to take advantage of the extra air.

 

I had a 2010 4.0 with the unichip, with Cai and long tube headers with cat deletes, I did make a hell of a difference when it was done right , I was just wondering with this all new 3.5 motors with this dual cycle intake if it would make any difference, as of now that idea is cashed lol lol , and I can't afford to go the whole 9 yards like I did on my last truck, thanks again guys
