I was in a similar situation you are, it was between the SR5 4X4, TRD Sport or the OR. It depends what you want to do with the truck. I chose the OR and it was the best decision I made for what I use the truck for. If I didn't get the OR I would have regretted it, not to take away anything from the other choices but for me and what I plan on using the truck for the OR was worth it. Good luck

This was my sentiment as well. Always loved M/T in small sporty cars but didn't think they'd be much fun in a truck.

Haha I think buyers remorse will kick in either way for either for lack of features (SR/5) or paying more and not upgrading as much (OR)

Totally agree with MT for s sports car and AT for a truck or JEEP. Obviously just a preference thing but I find in off-roading that one less thing (a clutch) to worry about makes wheeling more enjoyable.
I also commute to work in stop/go traffic so it makes drinking my coffee in the morning a lot better experience as well!
100% agree with the OR, think it's the best value of all of the models, but I may be biased on that..

yea, cruise control for 4 lo, like I said. Although CC cannot "adjust brakes *AND* power" to each wheel, it only uses the brakes. The axles are still connected to the transmission in the same way.

Also like I said, you can do that with a clutch and no need for a computer. Is the computer better at it? Yes, but the manual is worth it anyways. The manual still has ATRAC.

Haha "for a while" means until the beginning of next year. I can't not touch my vehicle for that long.

I'm sure CC would win, but the driver would be sitting there like a wart on a toad, while the manual driver would be stuck, but having more fun! :bananadead:

(CC uses ATRAC to perform its magic, this is sometimes lost on people doing the comparision)

theres a video on Youtube of a guy using Crawl Control to get unstuck from a mud pit... he sets it at 1mph, gets out of the truck, and waits nearby while the truck gets itself unstuck. It was pretty awesome.

edit: heres the video... i stand corrected, hes in sand, not mud

I saw your thread on that actually. I found one wrap on Amazon that a lot of people had success with though & has 4.5ish stars.

Looks like you’re considering a bare bones OR in a manual. If you look at the premium and tech packages there’s more features omitted from the manuals than the autos (push button start, jbl, etc). Even with those differences I traded up to a fully optioned OR manual, which has been great!

One thing with the grad discount it’s good up to two years from graduation, so you might have more time if you want to consider a 2020 too.

The Manual will also have the larger 8.75" Rear and 4.30 gears.

Get the manual and never look back! You want to reward yourself, so get the TRD OR w/ manual and enjoy your choice. I have a Manual TRD Pro and I love it. The clutch is light enough where it does not bother me in stop and go traffic at all.

My other car is a Porsche 911 Turbo with a manual as well. Autos suck and are inferior.

Yeah I found one fully optioned TRDOR M/T and I think it was like 6% off MSRP and came out to about $39.5k all told after discounts and loan interest. So about $2k more than the TRDOR in the picture I posted.

For all of you on team M/T. I plan to eventually tow a small (<20ft/ 4000lb) travel trailer and a smallish flats boat. Have any of you had experiences towing with the M/T and if so, how is it?

I know with the autos that for towing you need to be in ECT power and select shift 4th gear to successfully tow any meaningful weight since the A/T likes to hunt for gears and 5/6 gear are both OD.
