    BUY MANUAL TRANSMISSION

Ps: auto trans on this trucks WONT SHIFT when you want it to shift, it throws you to 6th gear and then you are bogged down... I had auto 4cyl 2016 and I loved all of it EXCEPT TRANNY... now I have 2019 or 6MT and I love it.....it will shift when I want it to shift..it will get into sport mode whenever I want and if I want to save gas I will throw it to 6th.

I think I saw you on the shelf between the condoms and the maxi pads....yep, it was definitely you. I'd recognize that bag and nozzle anywhere.

I recommend you get a job or a hobby. It'll be good for you.

Kia is a dumb reference btw. They are Korean.
You probably just think all Asian vehicles look alike...

I appreciate the advice. At the sake of sounding arrogant/ over-sharing: I was able to technically get paid to go to school (excess scholarships), graduated in slightly less than 3 years (HS class of '16) while working internships, and I'm now set up with a software engineering position at one of the biggest global companies. Suffice to say, my situation is slightly different than most new grads lol

I have no problem buying used but want a 3rd Gen Tacoma and it doesn't seem that buying used is very beneficial especially with the current financing deal. I'd rather spend an extra couple thousand (after interest ~5% used vs 0.9-1.9% new) to go new rather than used.

I love and have respect for the older generation Toyotas. My mom has two '96 4Runners each with 350k+ miles. That being said, I don't want to downgrade from my current vehicle so getting a 3rd gen is the only attractive option.
Updated interior, safety features, and warranty are great for a DD. I'll get and older gen Taco/ 4Runner as a toy.

Not all discounts are created equal. Rebates come from the factory, not the dealer. It shouldn't really be part of the negotiation at all (the dealer will make it sound like it is). Also, rebates can be applied towards the down payment. Financing deals are also usually factory sponsored (not dealer) and sometimes have an alternate rebate you can take, if you provide your own financing (always a good option).

Man, I hadn't looked at your price breakdown, OP.
I think you're really getting a lot more vehicle/capability for your $$$ with that OR. Plus manuals sometimes sit there for a while... I wonder if you could even bang em down a bit more if you wait a bit. Hand em a business card with your price on it and say "give me a call if that manual OR sits on the lot longer than your GM wants"

Yeah the pricing is really great and best I've seen over the past 3+ months of searching. However, it's sale pricing that ends 6/30 so there isn't much time leverage there for that trick haha

Just so happens that particular dealer is the furthest one from me so I'm planning to test drive local within the next week or so and maybe see if they'll compete before making the drive to the dealership with the sale.

EDIT: also just remembered that one of the local dealers was urging me to put a deposit down on a TRDOR M/T that was still in transit. Said he had multiple parties already interested. Guy contacted me a week after it reached the lot trying to make the sale lol

You won't believe how fun this thing is to drive at the limit. It's a blast. I didn't get it until I flew up a winding mountain road keeping it up in the 4k-5k rang .... And you don't feel like you're going to die or get a ticket (like I did in a Carerra4)

Get the OR. You know you want it. MT or AT your choice depending on your driving requirements.

Damn, you're good. I'm thinking about selling my pro and getting brand new OR in 2020.

I went through the same process when I upgraded to a DC V6. Went looking for a an SR5 and ended up with a DCSB OR. In my case it was only $1200 more. I would get the AT for the reasons already mentioned. Also for most of my life, I’m 60 now, I drove a MT. After driving an AT the last few years I wouldn’t go back to a MT. Maybe it’s just getting older. Good luck and enjoy whatever you end up with.

If you wait until the end of the month, you can probably get another $1k or $2k off on the manual TRD OR.

I actually kinda brushed off the SR5 at this point because the price difference between that and the OR is nominal for what you get. Also, if I got an SR then it would be upgraded to be more than the SR5 within a couple months.

I'm hoping to make a purchase the last week of this month or maybe catch a 4th of July sale. If neither of those happen, then I'll need to wait until mid-late July or late August due to vacation travel and work travel lol

I don't care as long as it's the one I got, because I'm the only one who makes good decisions and any other decision besides the one I made is bad.

End of June is end of quarter which normally brings the most aggressive discounting. Of course they also may discount for the 4th, but I'd shoot for the end of June so start the negotiations the 26th or 27th and be ready to pull the trigger if you get the deal you like.
