The last day of any month is a good time to negotiate.

    Little this. Little that
Sometimes it’s best though in the long run. Most guys here, myself included, got TRD packages. But ended up swapping so much that the only TRD parts from that package is the e-locker.

Most of us run seat covers, have changed suspension setups, added additional batteries or electrical systems that do better than the stock inverter. Add all that up and you may be paying more for parts that you originally paid more for in the package. Make sense? I’m not sure how 3rd gens work with packages/all the fancy crap these days. The SR May or may not be compatible to the 05-15 SR5 vs TRDs.

For that less than the price difference, you could add a locker and not lose money on the TRD parts you replace.

    Just .02

Exactly. That's the reason I'm torn between SR and TRDOR. SR I can upgrade to my liking while the TRD would stay stock longer. Also, I know it's bad to think this way but anything upgraded on the SR is out of pocket cash vs. the stuff on the TRD would be spread out over the loan.

It'll just come down to the test drive and if I can get the price right for the TRDOR. If not, I have no problem going with the SR to upgrade.

Also, at resale, the TRDOR will retain the value of the components installed at the factory; the upgrades to a SR won’t.

For anyone still watching this thread, I found an A/T TRDOR that has been on the dealer lot since mid-January. That combined with the end of the quarter coming up might net me an even better deal o_O

my new 2018 Sr5 4x4 , AT, double cab was 33,000 (before tax).

friends new 2017 TRD OR MT double cab was 33,500ish (before tax).

Just go in and be a stubborn donkey with the price you want to pay or else just walk away. If they start saying shit like "Well it comes with floor mats and mudflaps so that's extra" just say take it off the truck right now then. Also in the finance office tell them not to waste your time , you want 0 add-ons (no GAP , no Toyota extended warranty or oil change bull shit) and you want to go home cuz you're tired of their shit. If they proceed to BS, tell them you would like it better if they didn't think you were stupid.

Really? Can you post the window sticker? I wonder what would make it sit that long.

Right, wonder if they tacked a bunch of dealer add-on's to make it unattractive to any possible buyer.

Yeah. It seems weird a Tacoma would sit at some dealer while others are moving off the lots.

It could also be that it is a “demo” the manager is currently driving. In which case, they should be willing to deal.

Something is definitely up for it to spend 6 months on the lot.

When I was shopping for my 2019 AC with MT in cement there were only 2 in the state. One was fairly close, about 1.5hr away. It had been on the dealer lot for 4 months and I asked why. Found out it had been vandalized, some vandal tore out the Entune/GPS unit from the dash right there on the lot.

I purchased the other 2019 AC MT though it was 300 miles away.

The only time you'll ever need a locker is when you can't get it.

I don't have the sticker yet but here's the CarGurus page: Link
Nerd time: I found the UNIX (seconds) time stamp on Cars.com website code and converted it to a date and it was also about mid-January
Also keep in mind that those dates are just when they were posted on those websites. So the truck was likely on the lot for a little bit longer than that.

Also, they have another taco that's been on the lot since March. My guess is they haven't been hitting quotas because they're having a huge sale until 6/30 which is also when the quarter ends.

I know there's more to it probably but I feel comfortable negotiating the "sucker sticker"/"scam sticker" and any bs extras they throw on the list.

CarGurus says it’s been on the lot 151 days.

That truck doesn’t have KO2s, though. It has regular OE Goodyear with Kevlar all-terrains. Or am I getting your trucks mixed?

This listing shows an MSRP of $39,529 and an advertised price of $36,816. That’s $2,700 off, including a $1,000 rebate. You should be able to do at least that or better anywhere.
