If you can afford it, new is always better and you'll know the entire history. Also be sure to test drive it well if you do pull the trigger. I know people complain about the 6 cyl and autos so I'm not sure how a 4cyl drives.

I haven't drove the 2.7, but wouldn't even consider it as an option considering how heavy this truck is and feels even with the 3.5. Even more so if you lift and add larger tires.

Buy new and get 6 cyl. Similar MPGs and a lot more power w/6 cyl. Trim level is a price trade off on what you want out of the truck.

I’m inclined to say new although I bought mine used with 4800 miles. They’ve got some good interest rates right now and cash back options. Of course you’ll need good credit for the lowest.

., I bought the TRD OR AC in 2016 and every time I use it as a work truck, I wish i would have saved the money and bought a work truck instead of trading in myWrangler. Get a 3 yr warranty on the used one.

I'm just the opposite - haven't driven the V6, but can't imagine that it does any better than the 2.7 if you believe the comments here on TW. Plus the 2.7 has no transmission shifting issues. Just bulletproof and problem free.

If you can find that year (or 17) in manual, and don’t mind shifting gears, you will be pleasantly surprised.

You could probably get a leftover 2018 manual trans V6 for $30k and really low financing if that’s your thing.

Personally, a V6 truck is a must especially if you tow and use it as a truck.

If you can buy a new one for only 18-20% more and can afford it, no brainer.

If 28700 is the MSRP for the new one, I would venture to say you could probably get them down at least a thousand or two. Also, it depends on your personality but being the first owner of something usually results in less worries when it comes to maintenance or running into issues down the road.
