OPT7 JUNK?? I have OPT7 LED low beams and fogs (different bulb that discussed here, but OPT7 just the same) and have had them in my truck since a week after i bought it back in Jan.... ZERO ISSUES! DO you have any personal experience with their products or are Amazon reviews the new gospel?

People are saying the general consensus for all LED bulbs for low-beams, including OPT7s, are that they are worse than stock in terms of light throw. They are brighter up close, but are actually worse in vision for distance or in rain/snow. This isn't a knock towards OPT7, but the fact that aftermarket bulbs will not perform up to snuff in a housing not designed for it.

Unrelated to quality, but you're standing well above what the fog light cutoff should be and it looks like it's glaring right into the camera. Oncoming traffic must hate you when your fogs are on.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the fogs use projector lenses which is why there is so much scatter. Had the same issue when I installed the LED bulbs in my fog housings. Replaced them with Morimoto XB LED fogs I had from my 2nd gen. These work great.

They aren't projectors but their design, using halogen H11 bulbs, does result in some semblance of a cutoff. IE:
Stock (left) Morimoto XB LED Fogs (right)

    a4e554934349c27bfd7800deeb63f7dd_zpsca12_bff68255b681db7db81e4410156871426e0a16e8.jpg

I threw in H11 LED bulbs that I had from a prior vehicle in the fogs just to see whether or not I could live with em and the cutoff was simply gone. Light was scattered everywhere and it was blinding me just looking in the general direction of the vehicle standing in front of it. I can only assume that's the same as what's going on with the OPT7 LEDs in the fogs too.

Correct, exactly what I've experienced. I'd recommend no using an LED bulb in the stock fog housings. Either go with the XB LED kit, the Rigid LED fogs, or stick with halogens.

Hi guys, I just stumbled across this thread... I have the 35W OPT-7 6k HID's in my low beams and the OPT-7 LED in my fogs. I noticed the stock fog reflector housing just throws the light from the LED around and doesn't have too much of a pattern. It's really bright and can blind oncoming drivers. I tend to drive only with my fogs at night as high beams but I can see more to the left and the right (like they'd be good if you're in a rural area where there's the potential for deer.) I like the way they throw the light out to the sides, but that's all they're good for. I'm going to get LED for the high's at some point but am in no hurry to. The 35W HID's in the lows are fantastic. I've had them in for around 6 months and they only take a minute to heat up.

I have zero issues and my field of vision both on the road and directly off the side of the road is better with these bulbs than with the factory bulbs. I have seen more wild life BEFORE it darts out in front of me with these than i ever have with any factory bulbs.

I have opt7s in both low and fog. Put them in right after I purchased the truck in June and haven't been flashed once.

The only way you're gonna prove me wrong is to post up what yours looks like, because I just took this as a comparison with the H11 LED bulbs I have. They aren't as "high quality" as the OPT7 so it's very possible yours has a better cutoff closer to factory, but I'd like to see it.

I have had these on since I bought the truck and currently have 29800 miles on it. Just got back from Telluride where it snowed pretty much the whole time we were there. They worked just fine in the snow. I have them as my standard headlights and my brights. The brights are super bright and throw light pretty damn far, the low beams are perfectly cut off and are nice and bright as well. Sorry don't have any photos of me driving at night but here are some of the snow and my truck for shits and giggles.

Just because they work and "don't have issues" does not mean they are a quality product. OPT7, as a company, is well known in the automotive-lighting world for producing garbage.

That gives the buyer a two year no questions asked warranty.... Sorry man, I have a hard time listening to defamatory comments from someone with zero real world, hands on experience. You keep listening to what "they" say though. After all, if it's on the internet, it must be true.

I have to agree with Outlier, Opt7 makes a very good product and they stand behind their product. I like buying from someone that has been in business for a long time.

do you have multiple sources or just applying your own opinion as the standard ebcause I've heard the opposite and based on my Opt7's its quite the opposite.

So you feel that your week of running the lights and having them "work" somehow makes your opinion more worthy than that of other people using the product, as well as thorough, experienced reviewers all over automotive forums and blogs? You may be missing the irony of looking down on opinions posted "on the internet," while posting your own opinion on the very same internet.

My opinion was formed based on research I've done. The fact that I haven't used OPT7 lights doesn't play into the discussion in any way - I don't need to be a helicopter pilot to understand that if I see a chopper sitting in a tree, somebody fucked up.

You've provided zero feedback about light throw, output, colour reproduction, or other technical aspects of the lights. All you've said is that they work, and that's not helpful in any way. Frankly, I suspect that you, much like the "they" you seem to look down on, know very little about the subject. And that's okay. If you want to get in depth info, it's out there and available. If you don't want it, that's fine, too; enjoy your lights.
