    Cons:
Reduced light spectrum by heavy blue coating
Lower light output than stock, reducing visibility
They are not real HIDs. Fake halogen look a-likes.
Likely low quality made in China.
    Downgrade from stock.

    Pros:
People that don't know better think they look cool.
    That is it.

You get what you pay for. If you want a real halogen upgrade:

    best high beams?

what dose everyone think of the opt7 led for the BEST led high beams?

i want great high beams that match what other bulbs i have.

    right now i have:
•trs morimoto 35w/amp 5500k hid headlight low beams
    •trs morimoto 5500k fog lights

i know HID highs would probably be best but what dose everyone consider the BEST HIGH BEAMS for a 2016 taco?

don't want to do hid's for highs unless there just as affordable as a good led or other, i hardly ever use them so don't want to spend a lot. definitely no more then $150

    i was thinking of the "OPT7 6k led's

so i just installed these on my 2013 tacoma and had no issues for the first week, until i washed my truck.
I reinstalled the dust covers to the best of my ability and they seated in the grooves they were originally in, but obviously some moisture still snuck by. anyone have any tips for this?

i dont think i need silicone, some pictures of how to install the rubber dust covers around the fans might be nice. the headlights themselves are watertight.

So are dust covers with stock bulbs.

You aren't using stock bulbs. So.. they will possibly leak.

people have all different sorts of mods and they sometimes have downsides, i fully realize this. I was wondering if there was a certain way with this mod that makes it a little less likely to happen, not some sort of guarantee. do you have another led bulb that you would suggest?

No. I have a sample set that isn't in the market yet that required the dust cover to be cut. Since I have a spare set of dust covers with said cut, I'll silicone them to the housings to seal them against moisture for that reason.

Previous owner had condensation immediately. I'm mitigating that as best I can for the testing purposes and silicone isn't permanent. Even so, these bulbs won't see any other dust cover.

20161104_210544.jpg I have had these exact lights in my headlamps for almost a year with absolutely no complaints. They are bright as hell and held up to some seriously rough trails in both snow and desert heat. I did have to slightly mod the dust boots but other than that they popped right in.

I read your posts and while your information is concise and informative, I have not had the problems you have. Perhaps your controls were not set correctly? Yes, cutoff is not correct and if not aimed correctly it can be a distraction or even a danger to oncoming motorists. However I have not encountered any serious issues with scatter, nor with using the boot. Distance actually appears to be further than the halogens. Of course this is using my naked eye so I have no hard facts as do you. I am not disputing your test results or saying that you are wrong. Again your argument is very well thought and I found quite a bit of knowledge through the read. But in my opinion I wouldn't go back to halogens. Several friends of mine who are law enforcement officers told me that technically anything modified from how the factory produced the vehicle came be deemed illegal. They said its really up to the officer. I have had mine for a year or so and never had any problems. I do think everyone thinking of switching should be aware of the differences you stated. The only thing I found in your posts that I believe to be flat out incorrect is the inflammatory remarks made by others, which is out of your control. Name calling is fine except they have no idea who they talking about. I personally believe people who cast judgment on strangers are the ones with the real problem. Not to change the thread or argue, some don't agree, some do, I love mine.
