skygear, You know 1000X more about it then I do. I just though the link might be useful for someone looking for the odyssey battery since it was posted as being better the the Optima. Nice job on posting the pics BTW.

Odyssey is better than the new version Optima. I believe Optima was bought and outsourced. Both are great batteries, just try to go with whichever one will fit correctly and would be a better value cost wise. Try to get a deal on Sears Die Hard Platinums since they are rebranded Odyssey.

Braille are also great batteries but are usually small form factor for racing applications.

... ^^^ ... It was on the local news that SEARS may start offering a military discount (active & retired) of 10% like Home Depot & Lowes and others do now.

Autozone gave me 10% off on my total bill the other day when I used my USAA Mastercard from the military.

PS ... Thanks for the heads up on the battery isolater.

I'm switching to a dual odyssey battery set up due to all the lights, sound system and other junk that I run, though I'll be mounting them either in the bed or under the bed on the frame on the passenger side.

Good info on this thread thank you.

Just pulled the trigger on the odyssey 34r/1500. They threw in the adapter plate so no modificatiion to cables or mount. They did say the footpring is slightly smaller that the 27F trustart but should fit with no problem. The way it was explained to me is the odyssey has both cranking amps and discharge capabilities for accessories as compared to yellow top Optima. $253.00 or so with free shipping and 4 year full replacement warranty. I guess only time will tell.
