Options or Solutions Because of Frame

I have a 2001 TRD that I am being turned away from mechanic shops because when they try to lift the truck they hear the frame crunching. The truck runs well, still looks good and I really like it. Part of me wants to put it in the "classic" category and fix it up.

I'm looking for what are my good options. I'm not afraid to tackle hard projects but I am not a car guy, don't have the project space and I don't know how to weld.

I see refurbishing the frame is possible but I would want to do it the right way and I kind of doubt that a welding shop will take the time to get rid of all the rust and thin spots.

The other option is to sell. What are viable options to get the most out of the truck?
    * Private sell with full disclosure (Where is there a market for a truck in such a condition?)
    * Part it out (I have no way to pull and ship the engine or other similar work)
    * Trade it in (I image is the worst option)

    Recommendations on top options?

    Thanks!

I agree, even with the best of repairs the rust is still eating away inside, there was a recent thread about this. If it's worth it to you, find a donor frame, swap it out.

Selling it, well, price accordingly as it's likely to be a donor or someone's going to fix it and flip it.

    It's a Double cab 2001 too

    Welcome to the forum!

Just where the Truck lives plays a major role

    Pictures are a Big help

Any thing can be repaired better then new If it is cost effective that is the question.

To do the repair correct you will be at a easy $3000.00 perhaps much higher.

The over all condition of the complete truck plays into the decision.

I paid $500.00 for my 2000 with like new tires and a Good drive train with a frame that needed work
