Just looking around for now and considering downsizing to a Tacoma again... I did a couple of builds and see that the Sport premium package includes the PVM, but the OR premium package does not? Can you not get the PVM on OR trims? I have PVM on my Tundra and love it. Looking at DCLB if that matters.

Toyota marketing calls it MTM (multi-terrain monitor) on the non-Sport models. Same as PVM with a few additional features like under view

Interesting, because on my Tundra OR MTM and PVM are both listed separately. In Tundra the PVM is linked to the BSM mirrors.

OR Premium has MTM. Basically same system, just different camera angles I guess.

This is from my OR with the Premium package. It may be just a different name for the same thing.

Use the brochure to determine what builds are possible. The configurator is limited by actual builds in inventory.

Same view as my Tundra PVM.

On the 2024 ORP, you have PVM and MTM (where MTM is a supplemental mode from the PVM screen), but they call the whole package MTM for some reason. I'm not sure if they have always packaged and branded it this way, and there may be some vehicles where you only get MTM. There are certainly vehicles where you only get PVM. In the 2024 owner's manual there are separate sections for PVM and MTM. MTM is a poorly chosen name since I've seen reviewers in videos confusing multi terrain select and multi terrain monitor.

How are the cameras in the rain? I know my back up camera does not do much good when driving in the rain it gets water all over the lens. There are also plenty of commercial trucks that have camera systems I presume those function pretty well in the wet.

Is it the placement of the cameras that nets the best results? I was also in the camp of what is PVM?

    PVM is Panoramic View Monitor
    Cameras located:
    • Front facing in grill
    • Front facing in both mirrors
    • Rear facing in both mirrors
    • Rear facing in third light assembly above rear window
    • Rear facing in tailgate latch assembly
System not only uses direct images from all the cameras, but uses software to blend the images to make specific views like an overhead view that looks like it was taken from a drone.

Yes the cameras can get covered up and have poor imagery when raining, snowing or just dirty.

MTM is Multi Terrain Monitor. Is same as PVM, but has different software that takes images from the same cameras listed above and uses the different software to combine for lower terrain views for off road.

Below link is the best video I've seen on first showing all the camera views available via PVM, and then, at 2m29s, he switches to the MTM mode by clicking the rightmost icon (the MTM icon) and shows the different camera views available under that:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_IK4ihqsqQ

On the Limited and the Sport Premium, you don't have the rightmost MTM icon available on the PVM interface screen since those trims are PVM only.

Yeah, my Tundra has that. It is just with Tundra they list both PVM and MTM on the OR option package listings. So, it is really just semantics that the sticker doesn't say "PVM" for OR versions of Tacoma that get MTM. But strange that they are not consistent with that.

I never have any problems with these cams, although they are used mostly just for parking so if they are a little wet, no big deal. I also have the camera rear view mirror which I really like. It can get foggy on rare occasions, but usually not enough to be an issue. In any case the mirror can flip down and be used like a regular mirror if needed. I have never had to do that.

Fine. You might get a little blurring here and there.

The system (OR/Prem) blows me away, especially in 4 lo when it displays what you're driving over.
