Finally installed the TRD PRO suspension on my 18 OR, definitely stiffer but I like it, no more nose diving when braking hard.

I did this, but now I want a lift so I’m thinking about selling my 2019 pro shocks front and rear. I’m located near Fayetteville, NC

Are you still running those trd pro fox shocks? Are they holding up well or have you had them repaired at all? Thinking about grabbin a 2019 set with 7k for 1400. Putting them on my 2015 with 62k

They're holding up well, my rig only has about 18K total miles, 15K with new Fox Pro shocks... light off roading. They're practically brand new still.

Hi All, I just pickup a complete TRD PRO suspension from a 2017 with low miles, but quick question.... I have a 2019 TRD OR, and i see the part numbers for a 2019 are different.
    i have front coil overs = PTR61-35170
    Rear shocks = PTR610-35170
    Rear leafs = 48210-04840 & 48220-04480.

Were the 2019 TRD PRO tuned differently? also are the leafs tuned as well, or should i just use my stock TRD OR leafs? any information would be appreciated thanks

    2016-18 trd pro
    2019 trd pro
    2020+ trd pro

those 3 are all different, but still relatively the same.
2019 got some little tuning changes and the shock body got new decals
2020 got all new springs and perches along with tuning

the stock OR leafs will work just fine. Fun fact, all the bolts and bushings (rear strut bushing) for the offroad fit the pro suspension too.

Thanks for the info, one more question when you compress the rear shock should they expand quickly or sloth their way up again when you release compression. Just want to make sure before i install the PRO stuff.

They are pretty slow, they wont pop out hard when you remove the bolt.

There is no spring in them, so I would expect them to just stay compressed. I’ve never actually compressed one though. You made me curious and I have a pair of OR shocks in the garage. I might go push on them.

They are pressurized, but its not going spring out. Shocks are designed to dampen the action of a spring, so they are very very controlled and predictable compared to a spring.

Yes they are overpriced, but they are also hard to find. Thats how they command the money they do. Most people who want to build a offroading tacoma just get the offroad model and mod that as its much cheaper. People with the pro tend to keep the suspension since thats the main difference between the pro and the offroad.

EDIT: you can get the suspension for a good price if your lucky. I got mine for $150, I just needed to send 1 rear off to be rebuilt.

Yea i paid 1k for the front and rear, i have some icon coilover but i know i will never abuse my 40k truck offroading so ill stick to somthing that rides alright and can be rebuild.

Also i am not to confident in the upper top hats of icon coilovers. I have 2 broken hats already and dont wanna get left stranded somewhere.

I’ve had no issues with the stock OR swaybar (28mm vs 30mm for the pro) and OR leafs either.

How hard is it to swap shocks? Any special tools needed?

Rear shocks look pretty easy, but for the front coilovers it looks like you might need to loosen the lower control arm bolts, remove the swap bar nut, and remove the lower ball joints bolts?? anyone please let me know if there is a way to remove without loosening the lower ball joints and lower control arm. is it necessary?

Rears I was able to do in my driveway while needing a walker (like grandma uses) to walk. Front I had to enlist a friend to put in.

I Just finished the install, i didn't loosen the lower control arm but just used a 2x4 between the lower arm and upper frame bump stop. it didn't need a lot to make it clear the coil over, but i did have to remove the upper sway arm bolts. Rears took about 20 mins, i left the tires on so i had to hurry/compress lower shock and run under the truck to insert the lower bolt. coilovers took about 45 mins each to be careful and get all the correct torque specs. oh and i was lucky enough to have a bag full of bolts that did include the rear ebrake passenger side spacer. probably easier on a lift or whatever.
