I did offer that! I believe I said it to @YotaGurlIAm at the beginning. And honestly, even if she accepted, I don't have any of the tools we needed for this job. My tools consist of a socket set, screwdriver set, and some various misc tools like pliers. And yeah I do know a lot of local spots. I know them because I explored and discovered them alone. A local is not determined by how many people you know.

And nothing against Nick, he really is the real deal and an awesome friend, but taking a draw of Jameson should not be what determines that

Hell even I'll admit I do some out of line shit sometimes. Just how some of the shit goes up here with me and my friends. We do have a different way of doing things.

I will say that you are awesome for actually looking past the bs and figuring me out man. Like I said before, definitely the real deal!
Thank you Greg. You're a good soul too. That's why I put the venom on ice (mostly I think :notsure:) to try and not let this blow up while still defending myself. With that said, can we all stop pointing fingers and play nice?

@kyle11863 I think what would have helped to clarify your willingness to help, would have been letting us know these things while on the trail; "hey I'd offer you guys my tools, but I don't have a drill or drill bits needed" "I have some misc hand tools, but nothing that can help this situation." Essentially, letting us know you thought about what you have available and put it into consideration. What makes it difficult is you kept it to yourself. I understand you didn't have the tools needed for the job, but voicing that you thought about catching a ride to your place is what was missing and hence Greg didn't think you were helping.

I heard you mention the Jeep 4x4 recovery thing. At that point in time the drill was still working and we didn't think we would need it. Also Madison was in such shock of the whole situation that you could have told her a pig flew by and the sun was blue, she didn't hear it at all. Giving them a call to inquire if anyone was available (so we had it as an option) would have been a great help. You're young, idk if you've ever been this serious of an issue on a trail before, I know I haven't. You have time and the opportunity to learn from this and make changes in the future. Don't be shy to voice your thoughts, and don't be shy to take the initiative to help in the future.

Moral of the rant, if shit hits the fan in your neck of the woods, it's ok to not have the solution to a problem but it would be a benefit to let the head guys solving the problem know you put your head to it and don't have what's required. It's not a big deal not being able to help, but being quiet wasn't the best way to go about it given you're the local to Big Bear. If you don't know anyone with what's required, no big deal, but hell, shooting out a mass text to all the car guys "hey, I need BLANK tools, do you have these or know anyone that does?" If everyone came back with a no, so be it, we're still in the same boat. Now idk how many people you reached out to other than Jeremy during this whole event, hindsight is 20/20, can't change what happened. The important part is we got her truck home and now it's safely back in San Diego.
Shit dude I could barely help the situation. I have a very small toolset, but I threw everything I had into the pot and came out with a few broken tools. I understand suspension but I've never had to removed a sheared bolt and I am beyond thankful that there were several strong and fucking AWESOME guys there to dive in and take charge in getting this fixed.
Greg, Will, other Will, Danny, and James (I'm probably missing some people and I'm sorry) but you guys went all in doing work! We were on the trail a long time and didn't quit until the sun went down.

Thanks for the advice man. It will be remembered for next time. Looking back now, yeah you're right, I should've mentioned the tools to someone else other than Madison too, but hindsight and all that.

Unfortunately I have been in a shitty situation like this before. Couple years ago I was out cruising Holcomb alone hitting all my mudding holes and ended up tearing the positive wire to my battery in 2 places cutting all power to the vehicle. To make matters worse I was in a no reception area. Long story short I hiked to a signal spot, called the parents, and was pretty much told to walk home, which pretty much sums up my support system. But yeah next time (hopefully there isn't one) I'll try to let you guys know what's going on
Other than the getting home part I'm in the same boat but it seemed to make sense to me. Thanks again for looking out

I may get shi- from this, but after all I have heard and read, here are my humble thoughts and my own personal experiences with "situations":
    1) "I heard you mention the Jeep 4x4 recovery thing. At that point in time the drill was still working and we didn't think we would need it... Giving them a call to inquire if anyone was available (so we had it as an option) would have been a great help." - The people needing the help still could have hinted/asked to have that person call a recovery "business" called and "staged". I know that there have been certain situations where I have been in that certain things were just "oblivious" to me of the fact?! People think differently from one-another and it is unfair to assume that people think just like you (i.e. speaking in general terms here and NOT targetting anyone in particular... again, such saying). Or put a slightly different way, if no one asked me to make that call, then I may or may NOT have thought about doing it in the first place... again, UNLESS I was specifically told to do so. Who knows, I may have NOT called either??? I quite don't know how to better convey my thoughts, but this is the best that I can do to do that. Finally, on this thought, "the drill was still working at the time", again, just this alone should say something about someone else's thought process as since something was working then why go beyond, but then again, who knows what I may or may not have done and "I" would be in Kyle's shoes right now, if anyone gets my meaning???
    2) "Also Madison was in such shock of the whole situation that you could have told her a pig flew by and the sun was blue, she didn't hear it at all." - This statement is very well understood, but to hold another person at "fault" for someone elses failure to hear/comprehend due to the person being incompacitated, if you will, is not right to blame a person for the other individuals inability to think clearly (i.e. I'm quoting "fault" as in general terms here and I am saying incompacitated to simply mean a persons inability to think clearly at that moment in time)??? For example, I was in a SERIOUS arguement with my brother a few years ago because he was blaming me for being demeaning towards him, his kids, and whoever else I talk to and I told him that I NEVER do that and I can honestly say that I do NOT do that!!! If someone doesn't understand what I am talking about then I do my very best to analogize my point to the best of my ability and have been complimented more than once about how I try to "teach" someone. At the HB beach meet, I was talking to a TW member, (ThreeTwoZero Chris), about the differences between Wide/Narrow band frequencies and drew in the sand and explained the best I could. Anyways, so I proceeded to tell my brother that, "if you feel that way, then I don't know how else to say something about it and if you feel that you are being treated like an idiot then that is on you and how you feel about it and..." well, that conversation just kept repeating itself. I wasn't the one being hardheaded here and my brother was. I was NOT about to be accused of something I didn't and/or don't do!!! PERIOD!!!
Also, put another way, there have been more than a few situations where I tell someone something and "I" am made to look like the bad guy and/or idiot. Just recently this happened to me as well and I just dropped it because it simply wasn't worth it!!! I have much better shi- to worry about than someone else F'N BS. This was the night of the all night run in AB recently. I didn't let my friend's BS disrupt my night. Anyways, sorta a weak example on my part, but I feel for Kyle in this particular situation because it somewhat resembles certain situations I have been in and it is just BS when the "general public" sees it a different way until it happens to them personally!!! Shi-, the day of the HB beach meet, I was told that I "should have stayed left" and I was thinking, "how the hell could I, there was NO WAY of doing that and it was pretty capt obvious as I was being directed to go the only way TO go???!!!" But that person told me that that was okay because... Well, I honestly don't remember the exact words other than I was made to look like an idiot and I didn't know what the hell I was doing and/or know what I was talking about?! I mean, I can go on and on about the statement that I just made, "until it happens to that person then they don't know"!!! Again, how to further convey my thoughts this is the best I can do.

Just my 2cents and some personal experiences. If I say that I do NOT KNOW how to do something then teach me until I do!!! Don't just say something and then basically say, even in your mind, "from here on it is on you to figure it out". Me personally, I am NOT that type of individual. Case-in-point, WHY do you guys think my radio posts are sooooooo long??? Well, pretty obvious that I am intent on teaching someone and NOT just saying something like, "you hook it up and done", LOL!!! There is much more to talk about than to just say so much and move on!!! You come to me about radios and I am going to make sure you KNOW as much as possible because there is NO POINT otherwise. I keep telling you people that the "weatherman is NOT the 152MHz frequency", but yet you guys keep insisting on that???!!! So, another point to be made that people have a tendency to only listen to what they want to hear and just be done with it, but when something happens, it's not their fault, LOL!!!

rant done, have a good evening, 73, clear!!!

@WileECoyote it seemed like Greg's point was Kyle tends to speak of his off roading experience but he gave off a very green game when the shit hit the fan. I'd be willing to put $5 there was a lot of assumption on all party's part and that added to the confusion.

Best advice I ever heard was from my MSG : "Anytime you assume something, you make an ASS out of U and ME."

Talk about a game changer years ago but it hit good at the time and echos still today.

I VERY HIGHLY agree about the assumptions and to me, communications just quickly broke down, which, LOL, is my whole point of my previous post. LMAO, me on the other hand, I'm the type that I'd be bugging the shi- out of you!!! Ask @ODNAREM Ron and Tina!!! LOL!!! When I was over there, they kept trying to make me eat and just relax, but yet I kept getting up here and there and trying to help them prep for the party. A day or so before the party, I txted Ron that I would be there by 10am, LMAO!!! He txted back that that wasn't necessary... so, come July 4th, I remembered what he said and waited, and waited, and waited until about 1pm and txted him that I was getting ready to leave and was txted back that he wasn't there at the house until about 30min later... so what do I do, I arrived approx 30min later as was stated LMAO!!! F'N OCD rainman going on there, LMFAO!!! I took Ron's text as VERBATIM, LOL!!! But, that is just me and how I tend to be!!! But yeah, I HATE shi- when things are taken out of context and/or the communications is just F'D BEYOND BELIEF!!!

I agree with the above statements. Just ended up being an all around shitty day for all of, with a lot of hindsight realizations coming out of it.

I will say with how experienced I am (queue the eye rolls), it is true that I am very green when it comes to shit like this. I've only tolled with other vehicles 6 times in my life, 9 if you include my 3 tw trips where I rode with someone. Communicating in an even more bizarre situation like a break down just wasn't something I was thinking about as much since in most similar situations I'd be in them by myself. There's a lot to be learned from this whole situation and that goes for everyone.

I think who we should really be blaming here is Charlie! He didn't just push that bolt out or carry the truck down the hill like he said. Not to mention its all his fault. What an asshole! @4x4Banger

That there is. Been building up after a long period of peace and no drama. I think @Nicklovin needs to reopen the fight club thread so we can all get it out of us
