    Crossmemeber is needed, yes.
You can take an A340F tail section and install it on the A340E transmission, just hard to find that piece. May need to find a complete F transmission and use what's needed on her E transmission that's solid with no issues. More work but less of a gamble since the donor trans could be toast. You never know if the new trans is good or not until it's in there.
Rear drive shaft can be shortened or replaced by a 4x4 shaft.
Re-gear wouldn't be needed for her truck since it's geared the same as the 4x4.
Shifter plate can be cut and made to fit or just replaced.

Cool cool. Are you guys planning to do most of the work yourself or having a shop do the conversion?

If I do choose to get this stuff, I'll try to do as much as I can by hand. And hopefully with help of my TW family. But if it gets too crazy, then yeah a shop. The conversion for 1st gens is pretty simple once you know all the parts and have what you need. That guys price is still a little high to me since I'd need to get even more parts.

Definately agree with you there, a conversion isn't as difficult as many claim especially on a 1st gen & ya the price is definitely a bit high. I've seen a couple people do it for about $1000 & a lot of patience for deals on parts

No worries, I figured no one would be free on such short notice this week. But I'll be down there again next week if you wanted to grab a few

Monday and Wednesdays I'm usually tied up after work heading to the armpit of la County (compton), but anyday besides those I can probably work something out in the area

I'm in OC and just got a 2004 dualcab prerunner. Where do you guys meet at? I've been looking at doing some easier trails around the area like holy Jim to break her in.

@Nicklovin hits up holy Jim all the time.
As for meets, they come up pretty frequently in this thread and wheelers anonymous.

Holy Jim is a good simple trail, although currently closed due to fire.
Myself & some other are running Maple Springs Road tomorrow morning, you're welcome to join us

I'm proud to say that off roading at Holy Jim has put a smile on a lot of my friends faces, especially after they have a bad day :D

I'd be down but I'm not sure how the truck would handle. It's a 4 banger running Brigestone Duelers and no lift yet. I haven't been out on the trails yet either. I'm complete noob status. I finally got another taco after having to sell my 2001 prerunner to go to school.

Mine's a 4banger prerunner without a lift too. Don't worry about being inexperienced, the trails are fairly easy & we're all here to help you out if you need it
